Visited the afternoon of January 21. This is the sixth Flying Saucer I've been to and they're consistently great. This one has the added attraction of a fantastic lake view from an outdoor deck. Typical Saucer selection of probably 50 taps, including many local and Texas selections. Service was very friendly, attentive, and well informed. I still don't get why Flying Saucer insists on sticking with the "quarterly" beer menu. As with every Saucer I've been to I spent several minutes questioning the waitress to determine what was actually available since the menu was so horribly out of date. The food was a notch below what I've had at other Saucers, although I can't say if that's consistently true. I'm looking forward to spending some evenings on the lake when the weather gets warmer.

The Flying Saucer on the Lake has a huge selection of beers, both on tap and in bottles. The waitstaff is friendly, accommodating and knowledgable about the beers that they serve. It's seat-yourself anywhere you like... there's bar seating, long tables for big groups (or just meeting new friends) and smaller tables for couples and families.
On the rare occasion that the weather is nice (or if you're just nuts and enjoy the heat), head out to the patio seating for a nice view of the lake.
Go on Wednesday nights for Brewery Night. Buy the beer, keep the glass it's served in!

Great place. Atmosphere is one of the best in the area if you are out by rockwall/garland. Big patio overlooking the lake to sip on some quality brews. Great beer selection with about 50-75+ rotating taps and even more bottles. All in all they have to have at least 200+ beers avaialable. Ask the bartender whats new on tap because it isn't always on the menu or the chalkboard. Food is good but lacking in variety. Service can be slow when it is slammed but usually it is reasonable. Very Knowledgable bartenders and waitresses. Overall this is a great place and my favorite Flying Saucer in DFW, definately stop by if you are out that direction.

As this is the Saucer closest to my home, this is the one I visit the most often. The only Flying Saucer locations in the area that has a liquor license, at least to my knowledge. So some mixed drinks, shots, and wine are served for the people we bring with us who have not been converted to beer lovers yet. Some see this as a bad thing. All I know is that because they had that license, my friends and I were able to get the Samuel Adams Utopias when it was put out. Delicious!
Great selection with a staff that actually has knowledge of what their serving. Also, the management here goes above and beyond is delivering fantastic customer service.
Fantastic view of the lake, and plenty of parking.
My only problem with this location, as my friend pointed out, is that it feels less like a bar and more like a restaurant. So much so that I see people bringing their children...often. Not appealing that much to me. Bu that is the only bad thing I can say about the Saucer on the Lake.

I have visited this Flying Saucer, aka 'The Saucer on the Lake', location several times, and it is by far my favorite of the three DFW locations. It's a pretty far trek from DFW airport, so I am not able to make it a 'hang out', but if I were closer, it would be. I mean, how great is it, to be able to enjoy great brews while sitting on the outside porch, overlooking the lake? One of these days, I'll eat there, and perhaps then update my review. I have eaten at other locations, and the food is pretty good. They always have a good brew selection, and prices are reasonable.
The service is good, and they seem to know a little something on beer. The Saucer staff, at all locations, seem to like beer.
I guess if you want to call it a draw back, but for me it isn't, the birds and bugs can be a bit un-nerving sometimes. But hey, you are practically sitting on the water, and you are outside. Nature happens.
Finally for a relaxing time to enjoy some good brew, you can't go wrong with, 'The Saucer on the Lake'.

Stopped in on my way out of Dallas back to Tennessee...
Very cool atmosphere in a strip mall type setting...
This place had loads of taps (probably 40 or so) and at least that many bottles.... It was a pretty impressive selection to say the least...
I decided on a Deschutes Black Butte Porter and a Stone 13th Anny for my two choices and both were excellent... I ordered a plate of salami and smoked gouda that complimented the brews perfectly...
Overall, a nice little stop...I would definitely make this stop again if I'm ever in the area...
