This is a nice little pub in downtown Worcester. We were in Worcester for wedding in October 2008 and once we got to the hotel next door, we had no clue where to go. We ended up at Irish Times just to find out that they don't brew even though the sign says brewery. They have fair selection of beer including Harpoon IPA, but nothing too outstanding or exotic. The staff was friendly and service was good. Food took a while and it was average bar food. Not bad by any means, but not great either. The overall experience was nice and we wanted to go back for a few beers the day after, but ended up not to for some reason. If you are looking for a casual place downtown, definitely not a bad option.

Not a bad bar. Loc right off Main St, access and parking is not too bad.
The size of the bar is average (but this does not include the 2 floors above - used for dancing/pool). They have some local falvors, including Harpoon, Wachusett, Sam Adams (if you still consider this local). They also have the expected brews; BMC, Harp, Guiness. They used to actually brew their own beer (a few years back), but apparently the success of this was not so good.
On weekends, they have live entertainment. Irish Times also has a nice selection of large screen televisions, for those addicted to the local teams.
Food Selection is pub style. I would consider the quality above par, and the pricing pretty reasonable.
Overall, a bar worth visting (Dennis Leary holds his annual Charity for Firefighters here).

The Irish Times is in an old brew pub building on Main Street. The bar is very dark and gets packed on weekend nights. It is spread out with a bar on the left, tables and stools in the middle and booths on the right. They also have a stage area and I have seen some lame acts there. It is a popular spot to hit before shows at the Palladium. There is a lame night club upstairs. The bar tenders and wait staff are all right but don't really know their stuff. They have a poor beer selection of the usual suspects (Bud, Guinness, New Castle, Harp). Their bottle selection is also really poor. The food is fantastic and never lets down though the rest of the bar is.

This is a nice little pub in downtown Worcester. They have about 14 or 15 taps with a good selection of decent selection of local micros; 2 Harpoon, 2 SA, 2 Wachusett; and the classic irish pub draughts; Guinness, Harp, Bass, Bulmer's, and Tetleys; as well. They don't really carry anything in the bottle beyond the macro domestic and imports. I used to work at this place so I can attest to the quality. They go through about 30-40 kegs a week of the non-macro brews, including about 15 of Guinness, so the beer is always nice and fresh. They have the best pint of Guinness that you can get anywhere outside of Boston due to the freshness. The service is fairly attentive but not the most knowledgable on beer. The food is very good IMHO, especially when you factor in the prices and huge portion sizes. I've sampled about 95% of the menu and love it all. Mostly classic pub fare with a few other dishes thrown in. The atmosphere is cozy with a pub feel to it. They have live entertainment almost every night so check the website for info. Not a place you go to try rare brews or anything, but a good place to just go and have a few beers and relax.
