This review could go on forever, but you need to experience Sergio's yourself. If you need help finding the place go to mapquest if you don't have GPS. It's a little difficult to find the first few times but you'll get used to it. They also had (they may still have) great beer specials on some of their nearly 50 taps. The food there is OK. It's not the best but it has improved since we have started visiting. The only time the food is really "good" is during the beer dinners. I believe they have stopped doing those however. It was a really good deal for $50 something. I encourage you to check this place out! You need to experience this yourself. It is well worth it! Reviewed on: 06-14-2010 02:29:32

As such, I will address the type of "exbeerience" you can expect at Sergio's World Beers. (Yeah, that was corny. I know.) The first thing you might experience is a feeling of awe as you gaze upon the seemingly endless offerings. There are over one-thousand, and more than forty of them are on tap. That's right. Over 1000 different beers! More than 40 different beers on tap! The next feeling you may have might be one of indecision. Be not afraid. To say that Sergio is a capable guide to the beers of the world vastly understates his body of knowledge and amicable way of conversing about beer. A few friendly words of conversation about what you like about beer and he'll soon be leading you to your next favorite discovery. Sergio's World Beers is a great beer bar to visit anytime, but attending a beer dinner offered by Sergio is one of the best ways to experience everything that is outstanding about Sergio's. Not only are the pairings of foods and beers masterfully chosen by Sergio himself, he is also heavily involved with the food preparation. It is truly a treat for anyone who can appreciate a variety of fine food and drink. I hope you have a chance to visit. You may find that he has that special bottle you've been unable to find for years tucked away, waiting for you. Reviewed on: 04-25-2010 18:45:58

With that being said... Imagine having a great friend with a Man Cave...but not just any Man Cave. This is Beer Shangri-la...devoted entirely to amazing beers from all over the world! Overwhelmed? Sergio, your host, will gladly recommend something from his incredible tap selection. If you require a beer list...ask for the Beer Bible, it's floating about somewhere. You can even reserve your beer selection online...just give 24 hour notice. You want that beer at proper temperature, don't you? If you're in a hurry...wait until you've ample time to enjoy great beers, good food, and good conversation to visit Sergio's. Cheers! Reviewed on: 01-25-2010 00:38:05
sodd ( Minneapolis, Minnesota )A+ / 4.65vibe: 4.5 | quality: 5 | service: 4 | selection: 5 | food: 4 - $$ rDev: +6.2%Sergio's is one of the most interesting beer bars in the country. It compares, as a beer bar, to Toranado's, The Map Room, Father's Office, Monk's, Stumbling Monks, and even De Gollem. I think if you could add up all of the chaos of the fore-mentioned bars that would sum up the average chaos index at Sergio's on any given night. I like that. I think that might have bothered the previous poster and prompted such a negative review. Brewers excepted, I have never met someone so passionate about beer as Sergio. Sergio's is one of the reasons that Louisville is such a great city. Joe Minneapolis Reviewed on: 01-04-2010 23:29:11
WHOLEBEER ( Louisville, Kentucky )D / 2.05vibe: 2.5 | quality: 2 | service: 1 | selection: 3 | food: 1 - $$$ rDev: -112.7%I've been to this place a handful of times and finally have enough time to write a review. There is a good selection of beer, but no beer menu or listing of what is on draft - so they may have a lot of beer, but how can you tell? The building isn't marked so its a little hard to find. The service was almost non-existent. The food was cold and bland and they don't list the prices to their beer anywhere??? Also, because of the lack of pricing you may pay different prices for the same beers on different nights. Overall, i thought it was completely disorganized and unprofessional and a bad representation for good beer bars. There are many places in Louisville that offer great selections of beers and also have great service and good food, this is not one of them. Reviewed on: 12-29-2009 13:47:16
JoePat ( Bowling Green, Kentucky )A+ / 4.75vibe: 4 | quality: 5 | service: 4.5 | selection: 5 | food: 4.5 - $ rDev: +8.2%No sign out front so you have to know where you are going. Hours are not set yet so don't be suprised if it is not open early in the day. Not a lot of organization to the place. Bottles and taps everywhere. Is a lot like a dive bar except for the great selection of beer. I have never seen a better selection of beer in KY and they have a glass for every beer. The food is outstanding (espeically the mexican offerings). This place honestly looks like a college students basement and is pretty close to being run like one. I really hope they fix that about it because I would like this place to be there for years to come. Aside from that you can really tell the people that run this place care about the beer and place it above all. Great beer, great food, and great peole working there. Reviewed on: 12-14-2009 03:15:42
srol ( New Jersey )A / 4.5vibe: 3 | quality: 5 | service: 4 | selection: 5 | food: 4 - $$ rDev: +3.1%Visiting Louisville from out of town, I was surprised to find a bar like this. The location is way off the beaten path, with no sign or anything. Bar is very cramped with not much seating. Almost looks like someone's basement. Beer selection is great, with about 25-30 taps and 800+ bottles. Best belgian selection I have ever seen. Good selection of other types as well. Bartender/owner, Sergio, is friendly, helpful, and extremely knowledgeable. Clearly a beer lover who decided to share his love for beer. Food is good with a wide variety. Highly recommend this place. Prices are good for the type/quality of beer. My biggest complaint is they don't take credit cards (although there is an ATM machine in the bar). Reviewed on: 10-22-2009 18:29:33
cameraman ( Louisville, Kentucky )A / 4.5vibe: 4.5 | quality: 4 | service: 4.5 | selection: 5 - $$$ rDev: +3.1%First this place is hard to find, hidden away on the street and no sign. My suggestion look for the flags in the windows. Now to the important stuff, the place is small in the front, there is more seating in the rear. The front reminds me of someones basement, making it cozy and prime for conversations. Sergio is usually there for service and is very helpful if you have a question. Beer is served in the proper glasswear. There around twenty taps with range of beers, from American craft beer, Belgians, to German brews. The bottle menu is massive and impressive, you can not go wrong with a choice from either tap or a bottle. Did not try the food, but there were some interesting things to try with craft beer. The prices are in line with what one would expect, I did not ask how much for PBR on tap was. Plus, they do not take credit/debit cards, so, BRING CASH. Overall this is great place to have in the city limits of Louisville that has a great beer menu. Reviewed on: 09-28-2009 12:30:09
compass40204 ( Louisville, Kentucky )A- / 4.1vibe: 3 | quality: 4 | service: 4 | selection: 5 | food: 3 - $$ rDev: -6.3%Sergio's has moved to Louisville, finally. Same guy, same menu, new location. While he still has lots of stuff to unpack, and it definitely shows, the doors are open for business. Many of his 1000-or-so beers are still in boxes. He just doesn't know which boxes. That said, the selection is a bit of a mystery. Compared to the old place, it looks a bit smaller, but very clean (boxes notwithstanding) and has some great woodwork behind the bar. Soon enough, it'll begin to take on a personality reflective of it's new digs. Check it out, but whatever you do, don't drink anything you've already had before. You'd just be missing the point.
