Notes:
Our take on an American amber ale. Complex malt bill delivers notes of dark raisin, chocolate and biscuit. Copious additions of American hops yield notes of pine and citrus.

Big thanks to MarkF150 for this great extra. Bottled 6/28/12
A: Pours a dark amber, super hazy amber. Pretty much brown and you can't see through it. Big light tan head that looks really thick and frothy. Decent retention and excellent lacing.
S: Sweet, lightly toasted carmel malt. Grapefruit, citrus and floral hops. Has a nice sweet perfume aroma.
T: Big backbone of lightly toasted carmel and biscuity malts that are very prevalent all the way through. Almost a honey like sweetness to the malt profile. Good dose of citrus, grapefruit, floral and just a tad bit of earthy hops to provide an excellent balance. Nice sweet and semi hoppy finish that is not dry.
M: Medium body, average carbonation.
O: Awesome hoppy amber. Hands down the BEST of this style I've ever had. Great drinkability. Think I actually prefer this over Lunch.

500mL bottle my parents were kind enough to pick up for me while they were in New England last week. Bottled 4/13/13. Served in a Burnt Hickory snifter.
Pours a deep crimson with almost three full fingers of off white head. Foam fades but leaves nice lacing.
Smells of nice pine and citrus hops with a sweet bready background.
Taste follows the nose but with even more sweet malts. Pine, bittersweet citrus zest, toffee, caramel, floral, slightly earthy, a bit of spice, a hint if chocolate and a dash of faint alcohol. Really an excellent blend.
Slightly oily medium body with zesty carbonation. Long lasting hoppy caramel finish.
This is pretty much exactly what an amber ale should be. Superb balance between the hops and malts. Highly recommended.

Bottled 04/09/13. Tulip glass.
A: Pours a very deep, almost black amber color, though it manages very good clarity. Three fingers of fine, dense, light sand colored foam which is slow in deflating. Leaves behind generous an intricate lacing.
S: Piney hoppiness, a hint of bready malt and toffee, hint of blackcurrant, and spice. Nice. Fairly muted aroma.
T: Lots of bready, rye-like malt flavor. Tastes like I'm eating multigrain bread. A little spice, not much hops. Finishes with a mild bitterness and grainy flavor, and nearly bone dry.
M: Medium body and medium, sharp carbonation.
O: Meh, it's OK. Not exactly the "hoppy, hoppy amber" it's advertised as. The taste picks up the hop bitterness without the flavor.

Poured from a 16 oz bottle into a tulip. Purchased in Wakefield ri. Bottled 2/26/13.
A - pours a hazy amber-cherry body with a 3 finger thick, dense, khaki colored head that reduces slowly to a mushroom cloud of frothy foam. Exhibits thick lacing. Picture
Perfect.
S- pungent pine, citrus, resin aromas. Very upfront and easy to detect, I can tell
This beer will be hoppy. das dank
T- Big malt character upfront- caramel , toffee, vanilla. Following this comes the hops- pine and huge weed resin notes. Smokey, roasty flavor on the finish. Aftertaste is bitter and borderline astringent. Super flavorful .
M- medium heavy body with medium carbonation. Fairly easy to drink.
What a beautifully crafted beer - you could call this a dipa and no one would question it, but the huge malt character balances out the hops and makes for a delicious red ale. Recommendable.
