22oz bomber served in pint glass. Beer pours a pale straw color with a thick off-white head. Beer is crystal clear though some sediment remains in the bottle. Extremely floral and pleasant hop aroma on this one.

The beer itself is a hop-heavy and malt-light, brining across the classic West coast IPA onslaught of IBUs. Actually the hop load is stronger in the beta acid load than alpha, but this only accentuates the "hi, would you like a glass of hops?" effect. This beer is seriously resiny and it shows in the lacing. There's just barely enough pale malt to balance it out, and even then probably not enough for all -- this is an IPA lover's IPA.

it's good to be black

a: bomber split into a shaker pint, producing a nice little head of off-white carbonation that retains a good layer, the beer itself a pale golden-amber in color

s: pale malts with some bready notes, nice hop aroma in good balance - orange, tangerine, passionfruit - floral and vivid

m: carbonation around moderate in level, light-medium bodied, crisp

t: clean pale malt structure - light on the palate and only slightly sweet, good balance of fruity, citrusy hops bring flavors of sweet and bitter citrus and tropical fruits - orange, grapefruit rind, passionfruit

d: really nice little ipa - great fruit character from the hops really sets it off, light and refreshing, drinkability high

This pours a dark burnt orange with an ample white head.

Fresh aromatics of pine & citrus w/just a hint of white peach.

Clean, crisp refreshing IPA. Quite balanced with just enough bitterness.

Medium bodied & quite approachable. Easy to drink.

This is an excellent NW IPA. It has enough complexity to make one slow down & savor it, but also is crisp & approachable enough that it can be enjoyed in a social setting without pausing to "consider" the quality of the beer. The hops show just enough bite & linger beautifully on the palate. Can't recommend highly enough.

Crisp and perfectly transparent, it's a beautiful light amber. Solid almond meat head that likes to hang out on top and prop up the walls.

Pine and almost like some cardamom? I may be hallucinating there, but it's an appealing if unorthodox spice note. All the usual suspects are there: green hops, some northwest pine trees, some floral (sweet though, not as hoppy floral) almost clover, intriguing prelude...

It's so good... once it hits your lips it so good
Actually starts off kind of sweet, following that clover/flower sweetness from the nose as the setup for the knockdown of earthy and spicy hops. Manages to balance these two components without coming off sticky or unbalanced or like there's something missing in the middle.

The aftertaste gets into earthy and citrus, and just kind of hangs around even though the lights are on and everyone's gone.

Real drinkable and a unique and delicious brew. I usually pick one up when I'm in Seattle

Food Pairing: (1) My roommate's special "Poor Man's Rice", a concoction of steamed rice, fried eggs and spicy kimchi with soy sauce and sesame oil. Great with the kimchi, everything else, nope nope and nope. The beer dominated the other flavors, while the starchy-eggy feel of the food refused to acknowledge it whatsoever. (2) Pepperjack, Sharp and Mild Cheddar cheeses. The mild really intensified the aftertaste of the beer, to an unpleasant degree as it took on a distinctly metallic quality, however the creamyness of both was nicely elevated. Sharp was very nice, the two complimenting one another throughout. Pepperjack was also very nice, and while I think the flavors might not have matched as well as the Sharp, the spice of the cheese was fun playing off the bitter qualities of the beer.

A - Bubbly head over golden/ orange, and nearly bubble-less body. Head reduces to a thin layer which left some lacing.
S - Floral, white grapefruit, spicy. Quite aromatic.
T - Cream right up front, introducing a light, sweet floral flavor which is quickly followed by spicy hops biting down the sides and back of the tongue. There's a good balance here.
M - Light, but then again also undeniably creamy, almost buttery. Leaves a bit of a fullness which is satisfying, but you want to drink more.
O - Interesting brew for sure. Maybe not the "session beer" its label makes it out to be, but that isn't a bad thing. And while good on its own, I'd love to try this beer again with some food better suited for it. Something tells me that's really where it would shine the brightest.

Thanks, Bruce!

Pouring a hazy orange with a dense off white head with good retentioncme sticky lacing, this looks solid. The nose is solid too. Fruity, piney, perfumey with some citrus rind and grapefruit, along with a touch malt. The palate is a blend of fruity hops, moderate bitterness and some sweetness. Pine and grapefruit are noticeable. The sweetness is more a honey like flavor than caramel's and so, it does complement the hops. Medium light in body, and moderately carbonated, this beer feels quite good on the palate. Solid stuff.
