Enjoyed on-tap @ Thr3e Wise Men in Indianapolis, IN for $4.50. Poured into a 16oz Tonic glass and enjoyed this after a 2oz sample.
Aroma- Perfect filsner aroma but no popcorn hints...
Appearance- Clear golden body with a 1 finger head that dies down quickly. Has almost no lace on the sides but not a big deal.
Flavor- Buttery, great amount of malts used, but may not be appropriate for the style...
Mouthfeel- Light Bodied, Light Carbonation, and decent for the style.
Overall Impression- Popcorn beer? Had to try. Now onto the Raskeller beer garden. Prost!

I tried this beer at Scotty's Brewhouse in downtown Indianapolis. It arrived a light bodied, tinged gold in color with a one finger bright white head and good carbonation. The nose was nothing more than light pale malt and just overall crispness. I was very disappointed that I didn't get any popcorn at all. It didn't even have traditional pilsener qualities. The flavor was of a generic pilsener and nothing else. Where's the popcorn? Where's the butter? It drank light in body and had perhaps a light buttery finish. Would I have said that if I didn't know about this beer in the first place, no I would not. Overall this was just a disappointing beer. I expected something unique and I didn't get anything special from it.

Picked up my first growler from Sun King. Had to try this when I heard they brewed with so much popcorn in this beer.
A- Poured clear and light golden in color. Big fluffly white head that left lots of lacing down the glass.
S- Nice crisp hop smell. Gives off a lighter beer smell. Very slight popcorn smell.
T- Light hop flavor, with a small amount of spice to it. The popcorn taste isn't there like I was expecting. Dry finish to it.
M- Light body with lots of carbonation.
D- Good pilsner with a good idea behind it. Still a very easy to drink beer. Would rather go with a Sun King year round beer next time. Good idea though trying popcorn.

grabbed at the brewery about a week and a half ago. poured from the growler to a sun king shaped pint glass a crisp clear sunlight gold with a 2 finger white head with nice retention.
aroma of your dad's favorite beer that he picked up on the way home from work like 30 years ago. a very familiar, very comfortable, standard old american beer aroma.
wow. very nice. i wasn't sure what to make of this one after the 3oz taster at the brewery, but a full pint clears it all up for me. this is the beer that budweiser wishes it could make for the masses. it's a standard everyday beer, perhaps nothing special, except it is.
creamy, light, highly carbonated, barely perceptible bitters in the way back.
dirnkable - uhm, yeah, very.

I hate to break it to whomever posted this to the site (or to Sun King's awesome marketing department... which I assume is a single guy more than it's a department but whatever), but this ain't no German Pils. This is an American Adjunct all the way, and good lord what an adjunct it is. It-it's like Budweiser on crack. It's kinda what Dogfish Head was trying to do with their Liquor de'Malt, only without any attempt at being ironically artisansal. This, my friends, is a beer brewed with popped pop corn. You can't beat that kind of ingenuity.
Pours a stupendous deep dark golden with a white head that doesn't dissipate nearly as quickly as I assumed it would. Smells like a pre-prohibition style American pils. The adjunct is firm but the hops are still present. It's a very rich and crisp aroma and, sappy as it may sound, whenever I look at an old print ad for American beer this is what I smell.
Tastes very good, but excessive carbonation throws off its balance (which is a minor and understandable hitch, all things considered. I hope to god that they give this one another couple tries and really perfect it.). The adjunct corn is simultaneously as strong and as pleasant as any I've ever encountered.
Normally when someone says a beer tastes like veggies they mean it in a not-so-nice way, like it tasted like boiled greens. That's how Rolling Rock and PBR taste. This is completely different. I only know it's corn because I've drank a lot of beer and have been trained to sniff out corn.
This doesn't taste like veggies. It tastes like adjunct corn. And believe it or not my friends, that tastes fantastic, like if cornflakes were meant to be savory and also got you drunk.
This is very good. Not perfect, there's still a few kinks that need to be worked out, but this is like 95% of the way to being a mindblowing, world-expanding beer.

Pours crystal clear light pale golden with two inches of foamy head that dissipates slowly. Smells mildly of herbal hops with air-popped popcorn scent clearly discernible.
Taste is dry pilsner with astringent hops, ending with fresh corn and popped corn at the finish. Almost like cornbread or distilled corn alcohol. Yup, the corn is clearly noticeable both in smell and taste. Light mouthfeel; highly drinkable.
Nice gimmick for an Indiana brewer, and it sets apart the pilsner from others. Solid, clean tasting pilsner and well worth trying if it lasts long enough in the tasting room.

Poured from a growler into a pint glass.
A somewhat vigorous pour yields 3 fingers of white head. The beer is a very light gold, very clear, lighter than apple juice. Smells are some spicy hops and a little alcohol. At first the taste is what you'd expect in a pilsner, then there's a nice hop finish and you can get the popcorn they brew it with in the aftertaste. Very solid pilsner, very sessionable, solid brew
