This is hands down my favorite bar to frequent in Milwaukee. It has a great location, just off of Cathedral Square (a popular park) that hosts quite a few other bars and restaurants.

During the summer they've got great outdoor space and you can pick your preferred atmosphere by choosing between the first or second floor (1st being a bit more relaxed and the 2nd a bit more high energy aka loud). It certainly isn't the prettiest local, but it's comfortable regardless.

The waitstaff is always friendly and they have a fabulous selection of craft beers from around the country.

I stopped in here after having dinner in the area. Been really wanting to get here.

When we were in there it was a bit early for the live music/drinking crowd. So we had the run of the place. Moderate sized bar and drinking area. Up the steps is a stage and area for watching the constant live music they have in the place. The walls, floor and furniture are all covered in black much like any concert venue. I was told there's an entire upstairs area with a bar and a DJ most nights. I was too lazy to take the trip up there. Maybe next time.

We had the bar tenders full attention since we were the only people in the place. Never a bad thing when it comes to service. We perused the list of about 70+ beers. Which ran the gamut from all the solid local choices to plenty of imports. I went with a Lion stout and the little lady had a Delirium. Both served in proper glassware.

I would love to go back when it's jumping to get a better feel for the place. It was almost too quiet for a bar. Although that's not a complaint.

Solid craft beer selection in what seems to be a great place to catch some live music.
