Tucked down on Sansom and 11th, right past the stretch of more gaudy bars and restaurants, this place is brought to us by the same people with run Devil's Alley on 19th and Chestnut. First floor contains a wide open dining space with a 10 or so seat bar in an adjacent room to the right. Decor is sparse on this floor and really didn't give the greatest welcome to my senses. 1st floor bar area even uses plain old boring white house paint of a few of the walls. Upstairs presents a more stylish 12-16 seat bar in the center of the room with a ton of dining space. Both floors present exposed brick and metal as their main features, but nothing grabs me.
Food menu is varied but focuses on BBQ items. The appetizers and lighter fare are quite good with the sandwiches being on par with other spots in the city. Prices are ridiculously fantastic and I would challenge anyone to find another bar with so many sub $10 options. Beer menu contains a nice selection of local, regional and nation craft brews on a dozen or so taps and 16 or so bottles. Main issue is the frequency in which chalkboards and menus are updated. 20-25% of your beer should not be unavailable when someone requests it. Tap handles are even mixed and matched so certain beers do not stand out and some bottles are displayed but not available.
Service is always friendly at this spot but a touch slow, even during non-peak times. Seems to be a trend in places owned by this company. Overall, recommended for a happy hour, private event, or weekend lunch.

Walked past this place a few times in the past, decided to give it a try this time. The bar is in a separate room on the right side of entering the place. There are some tables for dining on the left. The bar is small L shape and can only seat about 7. Nice stone top for the bar. There is some strange tree branch and yarn ball thing hanging over the bar which was annoying. An old brick wall gives the place some character. The place is light and bright.
I was handed a drink menu, and the beer list did not match what was on the blackboard which I thought was strange. There were 15 beers on draft here like Racer 5, Stoudt's Revel Red, Stone Arrogant Bastard, Yards Tavern Porter, DFH 60, and Rammstein Winter Wheat. Definitely a decent enough selection with a variety of styles.
Service was slow, despite the small amount of people in the bar area. Bathroom was a bit strange as the sink is in a common area just off the bar. This place will do for a quick beer in a pinch, but there are nicer places around the area.

actually ate here during the "Restaurant Week" promotion, as this place seems to be more of a restaurant than a bar, but their craft beer selection was pretty good.
dimly lit modern styled dinning room, with a small bar on the first floor. I didn't go upstairs, as it was a relatively quiet Sunday night and we were seated downstairs.
the server was friendly and attentive, and the food was great. a mix of barbeque and southern comfort food - I had fried chicken and waffles for appetizer and pot roast for dinner. and dessert was deep fried oreos. big portions too.
the selection and quality of the beer selection was good. about a dozen beers on draft, with good descriptions on the menu, and reasonable prices for Center City Philly. And if you're party isn't all beer drinkers, they had a big cocktail list as well.

New place that recently opened in Philadelphia around 11th and Sansom.
Has a cool 2 floor design, with an upstairs and downstairs bar. Bottom floor is a little more relaxed, and is geared more towards, dinner than to drinking. There is also a smaller room which looks like it might be able to be rented out for parties.
Upstairs is a small bar, and some additional tables to eat. There are also a few cool large couches, and some big TV's to relax. There are about 12 or so decent drafts to choose from, but, they don't seem to change that often. I've been there a few times, and the place is less and less crowded each time. Maybe that is why they can't rotate beer in often enough.
Food is pretty good. I have had a couple sandwiches. Could be a little less expensive. Service is ok. Nice people, some just don't know enough about the beer they are serving.
