Thanks to David for this bottle. Bottled on Nov 3, 2012. Poured in to snifter.

A - Black with a huge amount of medium brown head.

S - Roast, chocolate, anise and lighter wood and vanilla notes. The barrel is very muted in those nose.

T - A massive roast profile with some oak woodiness is accompanied by hints of dark chocolate, anise and a touch of vanilla. No bourbon comes through at all.

M - Medium body with very high carbonation. The carbonation levels detract from the mouth feel.

Well, it's been a while since I did a review, good beer to get back in the game.

A: This is really thick. Honestly, I wasn't expecting this level of thickness from a micro that is barely unknown (well, at least to me). Also, very dark, pitch black. Good amount of head, which is mocha colored with solid retention, soapy ish type of bubbles.

S: Now, a bit disappointed by the smell, it's very subtle. But the little there is, it's pretty good. Lots of powdery cacao, vanilla, smoke, bourbon and a tiny bit of leather. Light amount of alcohol fruits (dark red fruits with raspberries and overly ripe cherries).

T: Just like the smell, wayy too light for an imperial stout. But, like the smell, the little there is is very tasty. Nutty notes, powdery cacao, vanilla, smoke, bourbon, leather, pepper. Again, the fruits are there. I know I'm repeating myself, but it follows the nose really really well.

M: Super light, again for the style. Too much carbonation and at the same time too sticky. Weird, and definitely not appropriated for the style.

O: Well, it's not a really bad beer, it's definitely drinkable, and definitely decent. But at 15$ the bomber, it's definitely EXTREMELY overpriced for what it is, even more considering you can get a bigger bottle of Porter Baltique for 7.99$. Anyway...

On tap at Winter Warmer: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a nice dark brown foamy head. Aroma of intense roasted malt with nice black chocolate notes makes this a very appealing beer. Taste is a solid match between some black chocolate notes with some roasted malt with are somewhat dry but also offset some of the sweetness. Body is full with a nice creamy smooth texture and some good carbonation with no apparent alcohol. Very well brewed and something I would like to have access to on a regular basis.
