Pours dark amber with a bit of off-white head that provides some lacing.
I really don't like the smell of this beer. I wonder what type of hops they used? It smells like overly sweet hops and piss.
Taste is more malt than hops, some pine and grapefruit on the end though. Slight bitterness on the end, very dry.
Mouthfeel is thick with the perfect amount of carbonation IMO.
I would like this beer better if they made it more hoppy, also if they changed the hop mix to alter the smell. Maybe its just me, but I wasnt a fan of this.

On-tap. Snifter glass. Enjoyed on feb´13. Amber color & foggy appearance. Yellowish creamy head & rocky rings. Intense caramel malt, yeast, grapefruit/orange aromas & bready notes. Toasted malts are ovewhelmed by increasing resiny flavors all over. Full body. Soft carbonation. Dense grapefruit juice sensation, hints of anise & candy notes in the middle. Citric astringency. Dry resiny finish. Orange on the aftertaste. Evident ABV is well balanced by flavorful flavors.

Bottle: Poured a nice amber color ale with a nice large foamy head with excellent retention and some good lacing. Aroma of citrus and pine hoppy notes is quite enticing with some sweet caramelized malt notes also noticeable. Taste is a solid mix between some hoppy notes with some citrus and light resinous notes which are well balanced by some caramelized malt notes with medium sweetness level. Body is quite full with good carbonation. Solid IPA with nice floral hoppy notes and balanced bitterness.

Auburn, amber, and ruby appearance, little head, no lacing.
Whoa, big alcohol whiff. Smells like Chimay.
A smooth dirty malt bomb. Enjoyable slight sweetness, it really does somehow, this imperial ipa, come of like a belgian dark at times. Really no measureable hop presence to speak of. Slight bitter twang when you look for it downbottle. The alcohol that you smelled doesn't come out on the palate nearly as harsh, in fact, its hidden relatively well.
This might be a really good beer to drink when you have allergies and your sinus swells up, but your taste buds are still intact.
