First encountered in the restaurant of my Prague hotel, I picked up this bottle in a supermarket in Brno. The brown 33cl bottle is squat and features a pull tab cap and a red and gold label with a dragon behind the name (which is "Red Drak" on my bottle). The ingredients list includes "herbs," with no further definition. Best before 6/15/09, I opened it on 1/18/09.

Pours a clear pinkish red under a short-lived half finger pale pink head that manages a few spots of lace before it fades to collar and film. The nose is both sweet of fruit and slightly metallic. The mouth is light and quite prickly. The taste starts with raspberry malt, followed-up by some pretty rusty metallic bitterness. The sweetness lingers with the bitter after the swallow, but can't outlast it, leaving a dry espresso ache tainted by an old tin can. I liked it in Prague, but back in Vienna, it's nothing special.

This was brought back from the Czech Republic by a friend. Pours a reddish brown with a slight head. Smelled malty with a decent amount of fruit. Taste was OK similar to that of a Yuengling lager. This would be good on hot day in the summer but no need to search it out.

Returned for me by my parents from their trip to the Czech Republic. If they go back I'll have to request the 'Drak Black' just for its name. In the meantime, the Cerveny Drak...
Pours a lovely colour, butterscotch amber with bubbly, pearl white head. At its peak it would surpass two fingers worth, a good fraction of which stayed the sitting. Some lacing. High marks for looks! Aroma was initially very inticing, a crisp shot of vienna malt. Sadly, that would fade and be replaced by ... nothing really. Literally, near nothing. In the same fashion, the flavour establishes itself quickly with a nice malt base, then quickly disappears. Carbonation is way too high for the style. Bad metallica aftertaste. Apart from a tiny, almost undetectable hint of amber malt this is no different from many of its Czech lager brothers: refreshing (maybe, in the right mood) but overly 'macro' in quality. It was hard to make a reading on this beer until you understand why - there just isn't much to it.

Skunky cheesy smell, redness and a bit of head and a bit of lace from freshness. Like a A Vienna, bit sourish and ,metallic, acidic. Chocolate malt, berries. Satisfying but drying finish and dry aftertaste with some fruit and spices.Worth trying once, thanks Georgina for bringing back.

Red Drak, on the label.

Cherrywood-red color, dark, with darker reflexes. Beige head, decent, average persistence.
Malt, strong, in the nose. Vienna, caramel. Slight hint of peanuts. Dried plums.
The taste is very malty too, more round than in the smell. Same notes. Quite dry in the finish, bitter.
Aftertaste on the malty notes again, hop in the end, not very long.
Orange Marmalade.
Medium-light body.

Copper colour, well proportioned head, nice, light roasted malt aroma, flavour, didnt quite match my expectations, a bit sour, and the malt was below average at best. Full body, average mouthfeel. This beer tasted very metallic to me.. and that flavour would definitely take some getting used to.

I'm still not sure exactly what kind of beer this is. The bottle says red beer, but it certainly isn't a Irish red. Served in a brown bottle with a red dragon label and a unique, pull ring cap. Pours with very little head, but a bright red color not unlike wine, it almost looks artificially colored. Taste was smooth, lagerish with a slight berry or almost grape taste. Drinkable, but nothing spectacular. Recommended for uniqueness if nothing else.

There was nice aspects to it, some bitterness, some floral notes, but i found it to be a bit sweet and creamy, quite average, sweet berry flavours throughout, mildly refreshing, unimpressive, nothing to write home about, but easy enough to drink and enjoy.
