500ml draught
7.2% ABV

I tried this beer on January 13, 2011 on draught at "The 3 Brewers" Brewpub in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a translucent brownish red with a foamy light tan coloured that lasted. The aroma was sweet caramel malt, candy sugar, yeast, and spices. The mouthfeel was full bodied with mnedium carbonation. The flavour was sweet with maltiness and sugar, and spiced with cinnamon and nutmeg. I really enjoyed this beer.

At this on tap at The 3 Brewers as part of a 12 bars of Christmas pub crawl. Pours an amber-brown colour with about a finger of white head. Nice head retention until the end of the glass with some mild lacing down the sides. Smells of spices (pepper, cinnamon and nutmeg I believe) with some the Belgian yeasty aromas. Quite a warming beer, possibly my favourite offering from a pub with a fairly mediocre standard lineup. I'm liking these seasonals.

On tap at the Toronto brewpub under the name 'Holiday Ale'.

Amber pour with a luxurious creamy off-white head that sits like a meringue on top of the beer. Nice lacing. Yeasty, funky aroma with hints of flowers, grain and dry cider. Very solid flavour. Some dry funk and grain, with a peppery bite reminiscent of ginger. Some slight caramel sweetness, but edging to the dry side. Warming body and a moderate carbonation.

This is a really good effort from an often disappointing brewer. Its something of a spiced Belgian amber and its very competently made.

Enjoyed on tap at the Toronto brewpub location. Pours cloudy fruity orange body with some white head. Initially yeasty with some sugar and some funky aroma. Tad above average mouthfeel. Taste of caramel, ginger, sugar, hops, cardamon, overall it is tasty and drinkable. Seems to be an upgraded version of what was around in Montreal prior to it.
2011 version has yeast and hop in the finish, spices ginger and anise.
