"Bottled on" was blank. Hmmmm.
Pours a hazy copper color with a nice sized cream colored foamy head. Nice staying power. Not much lacing.
The aroma is piney with some blood orange, apricot and more citrus. Big malt comes through as it warms.
The taste is downright hoppy with a good dose of sweet malt trying to match it....but alas...it fails. Just citrus and more citrus followed by a mouth watering aftertaste of grapefruit rind. Spicy on the swallow.
Overall this was darn good. It is definitely a hop bomb but the malt is there and enough to showcase both elements...but again....this be a hop bomb. I didn't mind because I enjoy them but for the malty lovers of the world..stay clear. Don't let the lil bunny on the label fool you. This brew know's what's up...doc?

A 22oz into a snifter with a slight hazy, burnt amber color and white, half finger head. At slightly under cellar temperature, it produced a rich caramel, spice, resin, and burnt orange rind nose. Spiced baked apple, sarsaparilla, burnt orange rind flavors with very little tropical fruit flavors, if not any. The carbonation left a tingle on the tongue. Had just the right amount of hops to balance it out. The pleasantly sweet and hoppy finish would linger for some time.

Look is nice copper colores, long legged lacing. Smell is some citrus, and straw. Taste is a lil boozy. Mouthfeel is medium bitterness, medium hody.

Clean orange pour, looked impressive. Aroma was lacking. No dry hopping perceived. Woefully inadequate.
Taste was substantially bitter. Didn't impart much hop flavor. High carbonation seems to go hand in hand with overly bitter bombs.
A lot of these types of average ipa, high bitterness kind of beer.

Above average across the board. Smooth, citrus and pine double ipa, very much west coast in nature. My experience with dustbowl is that their IPA must be consumed within about 6-8 weeks. It falls off quick

First of all I was a reluctant fan of Dust Bowls "Hops of Wrath". It is a very good American IPA but the "Hops" in it's title was misleading. Now with its child, "Son", the mission is complete. Copper/honey colour with a clear orange head. Aroma is what you expect with a California IPA; Hoppy, earthy, citrusy. Taste is the same with the slight pine taste you would expect In the aftertaste. Mouthfeel is good. PROST!
