While walking to the train station, I came across this place. Upon entering, the bar is located on the basement level, so it is a bit dark and cave-like. A long bar can seat more than 15, and there are plenty of hi-tops on the opposite side. Several couches are in the rear of the bar which creates a good space for a large group of friends.
6 beers on tap with around 20 bottles. Not an overwhelming or hard to find beer list here. Troegs Sunshine Pils, DFH 60 Min, Stone IPA, a Flying Dog beer, Pilsner Urquell, and Yuengling were on draft. The pint I had was fresh.
Bartender was a bit chatty with some local customers, but kept an eye on me to make sure I wasn't waiting. I did not try any of the food here. Prices seemed somewhat reasonable for the area.
Just another bar in Baltimore that seems to cater to locals and has a few quality beers. Not a bad place, but not one I would venture out to from outside of the immediate area.

What a great little pub! I don't find myself in Baltimore very often but if you're up for some great beer and playful banter, this is your place :)
I ordered a Tröegs Java Head and got a great time chatting with the bartenders about the local area. Even an hour or so later when it was fairly packed the bartender in charge took the time to change the TV channel for me and brought me a tasting of something she liked and a glass of water. I've been to a lot of places and thought that these two handled the large crowd fabulously and I won't hesitate to go back.

I heard that this place was opened by a former bartender at the Brewer's Art. Small and cozy, you won't find a huge selection of beer here, but you will find quality among the selection that they chose to sell at Dionysus.
For me, the atmosphere is the draw. As stated, it's quite cozy and trendy. Great place to take a date or a small group of friends. It's also a short walk from The Brewer's Art and Club Charles... two other landmark Baltimore nightlife locations.
I haven't had the food yet, but I HEARD that it was incredible... so that's on my To-Do-List.

Visited this place on a friday night when some friends and i were looking for a place that wasn't jam packed and super loud. It's down the street from Brewer's Art and Owl Bar in the Mt. Vernon neighborhood. Have been here before for dinner and had very good food from the menu that changes roughly every season or so. The service has been pleasant every visit, with the owner floating around mentioning upcoming specials. Beer-wise, this is not a destination, but a place where you can at least be satisfied with friends who are not on the hunt for the latest release. I found seasonal Troegs and Victory brews, while enjoying HopDevil throughout the night. If there were any BMC available, I didn't notice it, and that's something I can respect. Prices for drinks were reasonable and probably even better during happy hour. I found this bar with a diverse clientele to be a nice alternative to the more appreciated spots in town. Not the most beer-centric, but recommended if you're in the area and want to relax a little.
