When you enter into Discount Beer, you can obviously see that they cater to all beer drinkers. The store is pretty much divided down the middle between macros and micros. When you go inside, you definitely stay to the left for your craft beers, but it instantly hits you...I see cases of beer, but where are the bombers, six packs, 12 packs??? This place sells beers by the case only, which isn't horrible but sometimes you want a bomber and not 12 of them (but that is on PA and their stupid beer laws, not on the business). The quality of their selection was pretty decent as you could not only get some decent PA brewers but other craft brewers as well. I think I would like to see more offerings from PA brewers. You may find Ottos, Stoudts, or Voodoo but only a couple of flavors from each and not a full line. The service was decent and seemed eager to help and try to answer questions but you aren't going to find beer snobs working here. If Im looking to load up on something and in the area, I might stop here again.

Discount beer is by far my favorite distributor in Erie. They have a wide selection of craft brews and good imports and if they can get it they will order any case, or keg, for you. The owner has recently been expanding his selection and he plans to continue ordering new options. The employees are very helpful and always point out anything new that they have in and gladly talk about beer with me. They also have a small glass collection that can be purchased or are given away with the purchase of certain cases. It is a must stop for those in Erie or passing through.

Went to Discount Beer today after going to Sam's Club. As you walk into Discount Beer the crafts and imports are on the left hand side up against the wall. They had many different breweries Great Lakes, Erie Brewing, Great Divide, Brooklyn, SN, Yards and much more. IPA's, Stouts, Porters and some seasonal winter lagars and ales. I didn't need any help so I am not sure about the service.

I did note that there was Bell's Oberon, SN Summerfest Lager, and a few other seasonals that were certainly out of season. So I would watch purchasing beer here, since it does not appear that they sell it in time. Check the dates on bottles. Other than that the variety was pretty impressive.

Somewhat a new place on Peach St. back near Sam's Club. I think the selection is as good or better than any one in Erie, and I been to them all. The People are "mostly" very knowledgeable and always want to help, or find out if the can order something they don't have. Pricing was a little lower than most also. It is my regular stop when I go to Erie....First I go to upick6 to try a beer then if I like it I go bye a case (or so) here. And I never look over at the "Domestic swill" side, so I can't judge That.
