The Wiesbaden Ratskeller is the perfect spot to enjoy a brew while exploring the beautiful city of Wiesbaden. The place is located in the basement of the Rathaus, next to the city church in the old city center. The atmpsphere is well lit and is a very professional white table cloth setting (no Ma and Pa joint). They serve the entire line of Andecher Bier to include the in-season special and can be ordered in 0.1, 0.3, 0.5, and Maß. They serve great food including a very good Andech Double Bock beef goulash. You can also bring home a sampler 6 pack of 0.5L's.

This establishment has been an institution in Wiesbaden since it was extended in 2004. Situated along the beautiful Palace Square, the Ratskeller has both indoor and outdoor seating and the typical Bavarian specialties that every visitor of the region can appreciate. The beers, from the Andechs Kloster Brewery on the Ammersee, are worthy of traveling around the world to enjoy. The fact that Der Andechser Im Ratskeller has great food to accompany that beer, well, that qualifies this place as a "Must Stop" while in the Rhineland-Phalz region. Bavarian food - wild boar sausage, goulash soup, and maltashen (ravioli) - abound and there is something for everyone.

I would recommend this restaurant for everyone interested in enjoying German ambiance and outstanding food.
