It was alright, when we went there it was 8PM on a friday night and, besides a few big parties, it wasn't really that busy. They had about a dozen different kind of beers on tap, I had a Blue Moon and a Sam Adam's Oktoberfest and my boyfriend had a Magic Hat #9. I seem to remember they also had some kind of Honey Wheat and Guinness on tap. The service is exceptional, all the wait staff constantly makes rounds to see if you need refills and that everything is tasting okay. The selection of beers is pretty good, if you visit their website the menu has the food available and any beer they had available in bottles and some of the stuff on tap, although they had alot more that's rotating. The food is really good, we got a combo basket of wine battered veggies (I personally recommend the mushrooms, dill pickles and green peppers, they're amazing) as well as chicken fingers with fries and an order of chicken chunks that were Mexican style with hot sauce, jalapenos, sour cream, chili and mozzarella cheese.

So all in all it's a pretty good place to go, food's good, beer's good, staff's good. I'd love to come back when they have some winter ale's on tap and this time I was hoping they'd have some autumn/pumpkin ones, but I think I missed the boat on those since they're starting to bring in the Oktoberfest.

I went here for the first time with a friend recently and was delighted to discover that a place that serves so many good beers was right down on the main strip of Monroe between Secor and Talmadge, closer to where Sylvania meets Monroe. A sign underneath the main sign serves as a reminder that it once was its own Microbrewery (Black Swamp Microbrewery), but that operation has since closed down and they no longer brew their own beer. It's a pretty good little place, though. It's located in a strip mall and when you go in looks like your typical little restaurant with a bar. They focus on a lot of things, and their food is excellent. The french onion soup was good if not a little salty, and the appetizers are very well done. I had a chicken dish I can't quite remember the name of, but it was good. The atmosphere is pretty cool. There can be a lot of people without seeming crowded and it's not too loud, even at its busiest. Plenty of TVs are around without being overly distracting. The service is good and the waitresses were all over the place, making sure everyone was taken care of. Even though it was pretty packed, our waitress checked on us regularly and refilled us whenever we needed. As for the beers: I sat in a booth next to a giant chalkboard that listed every beer there, and there had to be about 50. There are around 20 different beers on tap, more than half of them micros, and even more in bottles. You could get pretty much any Great Lakes you want, and on tap that night I enjoyed a Goose Island 312 and a GL Dortmunder Gold. I was impressed by the selection and am very glad to have found a place that serves so many micros on a daily basis. Overall, it's a great establishment for a city that doesn't have much going for it for beer lovers.
