Dead on a Monday night. Waited a bit at the bar for service despite that. Service more attentive after that. Pretty dark place. A bit of a dingy look to it. Sofas in one part of the room which was odd. Large outdoor patio. Some 3f signs helped. Most beers served in plain shaker pints which I don't like. They did have the glass rinser thingy before pouring which I do like. Had a 3f panzer wolf in a plainish thickish wine glass. 10 or 12 oz pour of that was $9 if I recall, yikes! 2 bros bitter end was a $3.50 special, but it was either off or bad taplines. Very soured and off. The bartender said noone else mentioned that but gave me a free half pour of apw as a replacement which was nice. Very extensive selection of craft beers, lots of taps and bottles. Definitely the best place in this part of the burbs (excluding the bavarian lodge of course). Having an updated taplist on beermenus.com is nice too.

Tap House Grill in Westmont has a very corporate feel to it, cookie cutter. A big horseshoe bar greets you as you walk in with tables on three sides. It's a big space the bar seating approximately 50 and the tables seating many more. Big screens hang on the walls and above the taps. It's your typical sports bar/eatery with burgers, tacos, and chicken wings on the menu although the things I've eaten there have been well made and at a reasonable price.
The real reason to stop by Tap House is because you're in the southern burbs and have a hankering for some good beer, they won't disappoint in that regard. The bar is stacked with 36 taps, all craft, mostly local and great lakes breweries but there are taps from across the country. The selection usually focuses on new releases, seasonals, and draft only selections. Clean lines and fresh pours as far as I've ever noticed. The wait staff has always been quick and friendly but be aware that samples do cost $1 which is kind of a joke. If you're in the area and want a good beer or two Tap House is the place to stop.

The service can be hit or miss with the waitstaff. We come here most Tuesdays for Trivia Night. Great selection of beers, both drafts and bottles/cans. A little bit of a selection for everyone from the hop heads to the PBR guys. Often has special events that are worth looking into. For sure a chain feel but a decent try at a more local-bar feel.

I was in Willowbrook for work and found this place was not very far from my hotel, and the beermenu looked promising. Place was nice enough, had a small lounge area with a big TV and other TV's throughout. I sat at the bar, they had $4 any drafts and some food specials for happy hour which was nice. They were out of quite a few things, and I'm not sure how much the bartender would have really known about certain beers, but the service was good, the food tasty, and with the happy hour prices very good, otherwise the dreadnaught would have been $9. I'd go back and recommend to anyone staying out this way, they do have a wide variety of craft beer on draft and in bottles.

This is a great beer restaurant. Great and revolving selection of popular craft beers, including some specialty bottles and cans. The food is consistently good and the menu is not static.
The staff are, for the most part, knowledgeable about their beer selections and there's always someone that can answer your questions. What an individual server may lack in knowledge is more than made up in friendliness and passion about the place.
I especially love that they won't drown the place with drivel from sports announcers. During games they play music, which is great for conversation or simply not hearing the play-by-play from a game you're not watching, while you can still watch the game.
My only complaint is I can't afford to go as often as I would like to. You'll pay more than you might at other places in the area, but nothing in the area can compete on overall satisfaction.

Tap House Grill was the one place off the highway on our route that was open on Memorial Day, so we stopped in for an early dinner. From the outside, it has the feel that it was a fast food chain or restaurant in a former life. Old two-way door entrance on the north side of the building, with plenty of parking all around and a patio in the back.
Inside was a hostess stand, immediately behind was the island bar, anchored to the kitchen wall to the right. To the left were a few tables and row of booths. Around the far side of the bar were some two top tables, and another seating area behind a railing, with the patio and restrooms down a short hall to the right. Decor was dark and homey, with maroon paint and dark wood, stone tile flooring, framed prints of Italian stuff, an Absinthe poster, a couple paintings of FFF characters, and over one booth, even a painting/pastel drawing of THG's tap handles. Atmosphere seemed to appeal to everyone... families, older couples, young guys drinking macros at the bar.
Beer selection is far better than the other two THG locations i've been to (Glen Ellyn, Oswego) and reportedly the best of the chain. Their full beer list is on beermenus, and they keep it current. Lots of interesting rotating stuff and seasonals. Current highlights: FW Double Jack, FFF Arctic Panzer, NB Le Terroir (listed only as Lips of Faith, server commented that everyone hated it, lol), Anderson Valley Wee Geech, ST Jah-Vah, Stone IPA, and many more. A somewhat substantial selection of bottles & cans, with a focus leaning towards US craft.
Service was pretty good, though we waited a bit for the check. Beer knowledge was limited, though there was a "learn your beer styles" booklet on every table, and a short list of macro alternatives stapled to the beer list.
Food was ok, the mac & cheese turned out to be more of an Italian cavatappi pasta dish. Chicken wrap was good, no complaints.
A great tap selection here period, let alone in an obscure western suburb. Somebody here is doing a great job bringing in lots of rotating taps.

I've been here three times now; twice around lunch on weekdays when it was relatively slow, and one Saturday night during a charity event. The food, service, ambience, AND music were all lacking a bit during the busy night, but this was excusable, as my other two experiences here were both stellar. All servers are licensed cicerones and seem to be genuinely interested in beer. The draft menu is fantastic and often updated, not to mention amazingly imaginative food. The suggested apple/brie panini and DFH pairing was spot on, and VERY reasonably priced; especially considering the use of a $10 coupon that was handed out during my last visit. It's a very clean and snazzy place that often plays good tunes, and always supplies excellent food and libations.

This place has an impressive taplist (they seem to always have a couple top-notch seasonals and a real solid group of regulars), and the food is good bar food with an impressive variety of choices (the Cuban Sandwich and Stuffed burger are ridiculously good). They hold trivia every Tuesday (real fun)except the one day of the month they hold a beer pairing dinner. The pairing dinners are decent, but in my opinion they miss the mark a dish here and there. As a result, I only go if the brewery they're featuring for the dinner is one I really like or am really curious about.
About the only criticism I have is the service can be lacking on days where they're understaffed, but the servers do their best and it's never been so bad that I had a real sour taste in my mouth after leaving.
Also, the daily deals can be pretty good, Wednesday 2 Dollar burger day is a real great deal.
Check this place out if you're in the area!

Went on a Sunday afternoon, so it was pretty empty. Most of the bar seats were taken, but the dining room was just about empty. Compared to other locations, this one had a good draft selection. I know I've gotten certain brews cheaper elsewhere, for instance, a 10oz serving of Krunk Monk was $9, as opposed to around $6 at other beer bars around here. Service and food were good, not great, but I would probably come back. Tap list was printed off beermenus.com, so you can assume its updated on a regular basis, which is another good thing.

Our friends go to the Westmont Tap House Grill; through most of the year if not some times twice a week. We like the beer dinner parings, and the circulating choices of what's on tap each week. Good food with a savy beer smart staff, who can help newcomers learn about expanding their horizons. As for the staff; for the most part has stayed the same since they opened a few years ago. Management has their keen sense of what's hot in the craft beer pulse.
Come in and visit as often as we do.
Parking can get tricky on big nights but there is a sizable outside area that you can sit in the warm months.
