I've been to about five homebrew stores, and Keystone is definitely the best. Compared to the rest, they have between double and five times the yeast, hops, and malt selection of the other places. The only problem is that they're in this small building and the place is packed with stuff. Tons of winemaking stuff, t-shirts, neon signs, mugs, glassware, books, and whatnot. If you're looking for something, just ask. It's in there somewhere! If it's not, they sometimes will special order specialy items.
And the folks who work there know their stuff. When I was starting to brew they gave lots of suggestions that I should have listened to. And they sponsor homebrew club meetings and wine tastings.

This is it, my 'Local homebrew store'. I love this place. I probably spend more time then some of employees do here. I just attended my first Keystone hops meeting last week, entered and placed in my first competition through them and have received awesome advice, feedback and encouragement from them. They hold big brews, cook outs and group brews. It doesn't matter who you have a question for they know or will find out the answer.

Very home like feel to the store. You can help yourself to yeast and hops. They will always weigh and mill your grain to your exact specifications. You can even email your order ahead of time so its ready for pick up.

Can't say enough great stuff about this place.

I can't say enough about this homebrew shop. They have fantastic prices on most things plus a great selection of hops and even better selection on yeast. Keystone also has a huge assortment of other brewing related items like cheese making, wine making, and books and more. They also stock kegging related equipment and related parts like o-rings and tubing. They also have merchandise from main stream breweries and a crazy amount of glassware. They have a very knowledgeable staff. I had questions concerning my new nitro system and the staff answered all my questions and helped me get set up.
Highly recommended.

Alright, I'll be to the point. I wouldn't bee a homebrewer if it wasn't for this place. As least I wouldn't be any good at homebrewing. Everyone there knows tons about homebrewing and can answer nearly any question you have. They only get a 4.5 selection because, well, they don't have everything. But if you want something they don't have, they'll give you a reason why you don't need it or at least explain why they don't have it. It's an excellent store as well as an excellent resource for homebrewers.

Wow, how could I not have reviewed Keystone yet...an obvious oversight.

Man, I'm so lucky to live about 7 minutes from here. A beautiful selection of malt, hops and yeast, plus just about any piece of equipment or chemical you could ever want. And the service is really incredible. They know their stuff. REALLY know their stuff. Unless you're looking for something rare you can walk in and know you'll walk out with everything you need, and have all your questions answered along the way. Also a nice selection of tap handles, signs, neons, tee-shirts, etc. Third Thursday of every month is the homebrew club meeting, 7:00. Get on their email newsletter as well, you'll get news about stuff like special varietal hops they get in or their locally-pressed cider in the fall.

Quality of everything in the shop is great. I actually picked up the gifts for my groomsmen in here a few years ago. Glass steins with pewter lids and emblems. Everything I've ever gotten from there has been top notch quality, from homebrew equipment, ingredients, pint glasses, and other collectibles.
The staff at Keystone really takes pride in service. They are sure to help you in any possible way, offer suggestions, take special orders, and share a wealth of brewing knowledge that is much appreciated.
The selection is great at Keystone. Rarely, I've asked for something that they didn't have. They are willing to order in certain products and offer suggestions for substitutions.
Most things are reasonably priced. The vintage tap handles have gone up in price but everything else is very reasonable and fair.

Where I get all of my homebrew supplies. What keeps me coming back in lieu of the less expensive alternative (online ordering). Simple: the outstanding service and knowledge on the part of the staff. Whether you are dealing with Jason the owner, Lou the manager, or one of the many workers there - they deeply know their product and have a passion for brewing. And if they don't have something - they will order it for you.

The only negative is parking can be scarce at peak times, and getting to the lot is a little difficult. But that has never stopped anyone I know from shopping there.

My husband is now on his 5th homebrew batch, and this place has been our provider of all things homebrewing since he started. You can tell that the employees really take what they do seriously. The selection is OUTSTANDING and even if they do not have a certain kit in stock, they will put one together for you. Anything you could possibly need, they have. I love the atmosphere of this place...even though I am not the one brewing, it's fun to go and be around others who take craft brews seriously. Very nice and helpful staff. All of the brews my husband has made have turned out great...I'm sure the kits with explicit directions have helped, along with all of his research and effort. I just wish this place was closer!

My LHBS, Keystone is the best. Every shop I've been to pales to their selection and the friendliness and eagerness of the staff can't be beat. If you think they can't cram anything else into that shop and you don't see something, ask, it's probably kept in the basement.
They have a great club - Keystone Hops (http://keystonehops.org/) - that meets regularly and everyone is very welcoming.
Most importantly is the willingness of the staff to share their knowledge and love of the craft, be it beer, wine, cider, mead . . .

This is a great LHBS. The employees are as knowledgeable as any I have ever seen. The store is tightly stocked for as small as it looks from the front. Once you get in side you will discover everything you need for all your home-brewing desires, even wine and cider supplies. The real advantage is the assistance you can expect. Prices are fair. You can find what you need. What else do you need to know? They host a home brew club and BJCP exams as well. This is worth a stop if you're a local Home brewer.
Hope this is helpful.
Cheers!
