This place has really stepped up its game since I went to school in Middletown. It has a very decent selection of quality beer, both imports and domestic craft. There were some impressively old Unibroue bottles in a refrigerated case. They could use a wider selection of sessionable craft six packs, but that's a pretty weak complaint about the store that sold me my first bottle of de Proef's Surly Bird. Plus, I "settled" on the Great Divide mixed twelve pack (barely winning over Southern Tier's), so don't cry for me too much. The employees are busy but rather nice. The store does see an odd crowd with most shoppers buying lottery tickets and crap, but I went at night. The fancy beer connoisseurs probably get their shopping done early. At any rate, it's a nice little shop and quite the boon for Middletown.

This place is really, really great. It is by far the best place to look for beer in the middletown area. Sam Adams Utopias? Seriously great selection on both American and imported brews, knowledgeable, passionate staff, and really exceptional prices. They carry the full line of southern tier, pretty much all of great divide, and since they aren't that well known for their beer selection yet, they have some stuff that's just been aging. I just picked up a Unibroue edition 2004, that I am very excited to try. I practically live at Forest City.
