In a pint glass the beer was a light gold color (very light) with a small white head.

Assertive aroma of ginger. Some sweet malt. A sense of sugar.

The taste was all off. What little there was was dominated by the ginger. A hint of honey, and a tiny bit of piney hops late.

Mouthfeel was quite sharp, and not pleasant, due to the ginger.

No more for me.

Poured from a bottle into a tumbler pint, the beer is a slightly hazy, yellow-gold coloring with no trace of head. Aromas of mild ginger spice, honey sweetness, and toasty grains. Flavors are roasted grain in the backbone, with a hint of ginger and mead sweetness throughout. Smooth, crisp body with a lightness from the carbonation that is consistent while you drink. The aftertaste is sweet and crisp from the ginger spice, with a crisp, sweet finish.

LOOK: Crystal-clear pale golden

SMELL: Fresh ginger, pale malt, crackers, biscuits, faint honey

TASTE: Dry, crisp, ginger, yeast, bread crust, faint alcohol, grainy, floral, bone-dry finish

Light and extremely dry. The intense and near-aggressive ginger does a great job by bringing some complexity to the palate. Honey plays second fiddle, and the beer on its own is a semi-clean shell of a lager. A perfect beer for a multi-course dinner, either served as an aperitif or to cleanse the palate between heartier courses.

Pours a hazy marigold yellow color with pale yellow highlights. Has a very thick golden-white head that thins up pretty quickly but leaves a solid ring with decent lacing.

Solid notes of ginger and yeast, with hints of honey, spice, citrus, and fruity malts.

Incredibly flat taste. A light note of ginger hits the palate, then disappears almost immediately, but creeps back in to the aftertaste. There's not much of anything else there.

Very light body, low carbonation level. The carbonation level is good, providing a nice effervescence, but the body is just so thin to the point of watery.

Promising looks and a decent aroma, but such a disappointment in the taste department that there's little reason to bother with this one.
