650 ml bottle. Pours a translucent deep orange-gold, with an off white head that had medium duration. Plenty of lacing observed. Aroma is all citrus, lemon, grapefruit, oranges and limes. Flavor is dominated by biter hops, this is a hops bomb, but its not nearly as biter as it could be. In addition to the biter the flavor has plenty of grapefruit and some biter walnuts. Mouthfeel is full and satisfying with a silky feel and plenty of carbonation. Finish is even more lingering hops, not a clean crisp finish. Overall this is a beer for people who like to push the envelope on hops, I like biter, but I prefer more complexity and a cleaner finish.

Poured from a 650 ml bottle into a La Fin du Monde Tulip Glass
A: A light copper color; orange really, and clear as a bell. Dorado pours to a chalky white head settling down to a thick white collar leaving a nice amount of lacing.
S: Dorado has a big hop bouquet of all those great Pacific Northwest hops; it is spicey and floral with a bit of fruit in there.
T: The beer has a nice sweet caramel malt base and huge/robust bittering hops; it has a sweet middle giving way to a long, very dry finish. There are lots of light, heady hoppy notes, but I feel it is almost too dry at the end especially when drinking the entire bottle, but I recognize that this is a personal preference. Having said that, it is a very drinkable beer, especially considering its 10% ABV.
M: It is very round And smooth with a big presence that finishes very clean.
O: A very good DIPA. Dorado starts with a wonderful spicy, floral nose and has a huge hop presence with a decent about of malt to balance things out. The bittering hops are a bit out of balance for me and while the beer finishes clean and dry, there is too much unbalance bitterness in the middle. I am splitting hairs here though and am comparing Dorado against other stellar high gravity IPAs.

A: Pours out a clear burnished amber color. Two fingers of straw colored head with very good retention and sticky lacing.
S: Boozy tropical fruit. I'm catching a lot of orange mixed with mango. A hint of biscuit and pine.
T: Buttery biscuit and tropical fruit up front. The back end is more of a bitter pine, lemon, floral, and herbal mix. Overall, a nice balance of sweet and bitter. A bit of a boozy burn but I kind of like it in this case because it enhances the herbal hoppiness.
M: Medium and creamy body with a softer than usual carbonation.
O: Awesome complexity on this one. The nose hits you with one thing and the taste gets you with another. Very refreshing for a DIPA because of the exceptional balance.

22 Oz bottle poured into a tulip
Enjoy by 08/09/13 (3 months early)
A- A semi hazy orange glowing beer with a one finger off white head.
S- Citrus, peach, mango, a little grapefruit and plum as well. Kinda sweet and floral smelling.
T- A nice bitterness at first. A very sharp citrusy hop profile takes over this beer. A lot of mango and peach. Some darker fruit flavors in the hop profile as well. A bit of peppery spicyness believe it or not and a sticky feel. The malt backbone to this beer is Semisweet. A very well balanced IPA.
M- A very nice feel to this brew. Bitter, thick and sticky. Cant tatse the alcohol at all but the beer is slightly warming.
O- A solid DIPA, I would hope for a little better considering this is the brewey that makes Sculpin. But a good DIPA regardless.

bomber into snifter. enjoy by 08/09/13.
A: body is more of a light copper, a little different than most DIPA which are a bit paler. head is frothy, slightly off-white. retention is average. spotted retention.
S: floral. definitely a sweet orange peel, but also some bitter orange peel. a good bit of sticky grapefruit. malty caramel aroma comes in as the drink continues.
T: starts sweet and hoppy. similar to the nose there is a solid orange juice flavor to go along with the heavy orange peel nose. a soft vanilla flavor sneaks its way in there. maybe more malt derived. finish has boatloads of cereal. lingers into the finish more than any hop bitterness.
M: carb is spot on, natural and fizzy but not overbearing. medium/full body.
D: pretty solid DIPA here. drinkability is good as the bitterness has been kept in check and there is balance between grist and hops. nothing earth-shattering here, but certainly worth checking out for all you hop heads out there.
