12 oz. bottle poured into a DFH IPA glass.
Appearance - Pours a bright orange and very hazy body. Nice big white head. Lots of sticky lacing and the surface retains a thick layer of foam.
Smell - Grapefruit citrus hops. A little bit of tropical fruit there. Strong hop aroma. Equally strong is a toasty malt aroma.
Taste - That grain flavor is dominant. Amazingly, it cuts through a strong hop flavor. More grapefruit than tropical fruits now. Pine and earthy hops come through also. But that toast flavor is very strong through. Lends itself to an increasing bitterness in the finish.
Mouthfeel - Crisp, bitter, not at all sweet. Dry and well carbonated.
Overall - Pretty tasting but that grain is strong as is the bitterness. Independently, they probably would be pleasant elements, but combined they're too much.

12 oz bottle from tommyguz (Thanks!) poured into a 14 oz red wine glass
Appearance: Pours a slightly hazy copper that produces a less than organized head that persists for 5-10 minutes, and then leaves a 1/4" ring around the glass
Smell: Sweet orange first and foremost, with fresh pine in the background
Taste: To be honest the taste leaves a little to be desired. The flavors are the same as was noticed on the smell, but they are more subdued. A sweet malt character comes through which is followed by orange and a little pine. Could be the age as this was sent to me from across the country, but if the taste is a strong as the nose when fresh I am certain that this is an excellent beer.
Mouthfeel: The mouthfeel is sufficient but leaves a little to be desired. The carbonation is not as well integrated as I would hope, but the mottled head left me expecting this sadly. The carbonation is ok, but again it just doesn't feel that well integrated, with the sensation of carbonation hitting after the initial rush of flavor.
Overall: A pretty well crafted dipa with just a few things keeping it from being a great DIPA. If I am ever in the area I will make a point to try it as fresh as possible.

Pour is golden orange and transparent with a white fairly bubbly head. The nose is fairly balanced with malt and hop. Sticky caramel and light dough with citrus orange hop behind. Taste is much more malt forward, caramel, stale grain and dough. Hops are fairly citrusy and brings a light bitterness through a lightly carbonated finish. Body is fairly full and creamy.
