I am giving Hop City fives across the board. We drove up on September 2 from Alabama looking for stuff I can't find locally. Upon entering we were greeted warmly by the staff and after allowing us to get comfortable in the store, offered assistance. We were helped by a very friendly outgoing gentleman who was quite knowledgeable. After asking a few questions as to my preferences, he made suggestions for some brands that I might enjoy. Since I am really more of a sample it and move on kind of guy, I was mainly interested in buying singles. He made a bunch of recommendations from the singles section, then busted up a few six packs so I could get a few that were not presently on the singles shelf. He spent about thirty minutes with us and was absolutely a delight to talk with. I wish I had gotten his name because I would certainly give him some props here.
The selection is pretty massive and a bit overwhelming. So many beers and only one liver <ha ha>. The prices were better than I expected and if I could give customer service a higher score than five I would. Highly recommended.
Best of all this is a nice upscale store run by a young knowledgeable staff who is enthusiastic and helpful. Some beverages stores just seem to be staffed by weasel-faced humorless old men who are not pleasant in the least. Not Hop City. <subliminal message> GO THERE. BUY LOTS OF BEER FROM THEM </subliminal message>

Lots of beer options here... Great selection of domestic micros and crafts from all over the map stretching from the NE to the West coast to the South, and up to the great Northwest. Also, plenty of Belgians, and other Euros. A great combination of a little of everything. I'd say domestics are the primary focus though
Didn't really have any questions, but the staff was friendly and inquired to myself and anybody else in the store if they needed assistance.
The growler station is a good. The guys at the growler station were really interested in beer talk, informative to the patrons ahead of me who had questions, and generally cool and friendly. Nice selection which from what I can tell is in a diverse and constant rotation.
If you're in the area, meaning anywhere in the ATL, it's worth the trip even if it means driving across town. Organization of beer is a little funny (if I have to reach for something that's off...I'm just reaching though to balance out my review.)
Oh yea, they even had the normal macros and such in the coolers and a nice wine selection, too if that sort of thing suits the fancy of yourself or drinking companion.
Go there....you won't regret it.

A trip to Atlanta for a beer geek would not be complete without a stop here. Wonderful selection of local brews, in bottles and on tap for growler fills (large and small). There are several taps and a nice selection for all tastes. The bottle selection promises that they carry all beers that anyone CAN carry in Georgia.
Young man running the taps has good knowledge and gives good recommendations. He pointed out the "go to beers" for me, a person who was not familiar at all with most of the selections. His choices and recommendations were great.
Bottles from all over the U.S. are available with a nice selection for all over the world. Beers are arranged by style, not producer, which takes some getting used to. However, simply a great stop.

Hop city was a much relieved find in Atlanta. New to the area I have been resorting to lesser liquor stores. The staff is extremely nice and knowledgeable. They can get busy at times but it's understandable when you look at the masses that come into the store. I took a friend there recently that cannot have anything with Glutton. Not only do they have glutton free beer then even had one on their growler tap. I love Growler culture and they sell it quite well. They make buying beer a fun experience. I have yet to leave that store without a huge grim over taking my face.

I live right down the road from Hopcity, love this pace. I go here for all my beer needs. They have a great staff, very laid back, know what they are talking about and can help if you need it. Their beer is divided by styles and new releases, tons of racks everywhere. And for those of you who like growlers, they just recently completed a new growler room with around 50-60 taps. This is probably the best place in Atlanta to find rare beers - for special release beers they are typically a zoo. I would recommend anyone visiting Atlanta to stop by and give them a try!

I stopped here during a trip to my hometown of Atlanta. The location is in a good location and the building is new and clean. Upon entering I was surprised they had wine, but I guess that goes with the territory. The selection is top notch, but they didn't have as much of a selection as I was expecting for a city the size of Atlanta. It was hard to find specific beers, but that just gave me more time to browse and check things out. There were no prices on anything so I just loaded up and hoped for the best. $130 bucks later I left with a case full of big boys! I give this place a 4.5 because it was nice and the selection was good. But you have to give places like this high scores because the only comparison are places like liquor stores and grocery stores. It is what it is!

Stopped in here on my way to FL. After reading all the reviews I was pretty pumped to stop in. When I walked in there was beer every where!!! Just cases upon cases were on the floor and in the isles in between shelfs. Shelfs were kind of bare in some spots. Maybe they just got in a new shipment or something. At the store the staff was kind of helpful. I asked on guy about wake-n-bake and he acted like I was the 20th guy that aked him that day. They do carry a lot of beer and have a good selection. They also carry wine and have a homebrew supply shop. On top of that, they do have homebrewing classes. And they have something like 50 taps. I wish I had a store like this by me. Very cool!
Know, the reason why I gave a 1 for service. On my stop in I also grabbed a growler. I planned on drinking it that night at my hotel. I had 5 more hours to drive till then. So I had 5 hours to crave this beer! When I finally got to my hotel I cleand a pint glass with soap and pored the cold beer in. instantly I noticed that the carbonation was way off and the rest of the growler smelled sour. Since then I called several times on mulitple days. No one ever answered the phone and there mail box was was full. So I e-mailed them and never got a responce back. This was about two weeks ago.
Overall its a great store with poor customer service. Be careful if you purchase a growler.

Coming from TN, this store was awesome!
Countless racks assorted by style! An entire rack dedicated to just ciders. HUGE cooler running half the length of the store. Big homebrew section. When I was in there they were in the process of renovating. They were putting in what looked to be at least 60 taps at their growler station!
They had several things I hadn't seen at Beverage World in Fort Oglethorpe, GA (the best beer store near me). Including Petrus Aged Pale which I grabbed a couple of and Fantôme Saison, which I've been seeking for about a year. They also had a couple Unibroue offerings I hadn't seen before.
Prices seemed pretty standard but I'll be honest I didn't look at a whole lot of prices as I was in awe the entire time I was in there, this being by far the biggest beer store I've been to in my relatively short craft beer indulged life.

Hop City has one of the best selections of beer that I have ever seen. In addition to over a dozen beers on tap for purchase in up to a 64-oz. growler, they also have hundreds of kinds of beers for purchase in 6-packs or singles. You can get the more popular beers out of the cold section or pull a sixer off the shelf and have them chilled complimentary.
The staff are all very knowledgeable and helpful. Although the first time in Hop City can be a bit overwhelming because of the selection the staff will work with you to find something new to try based on your taste preferences, price range, etc.
Interested in home brewing? Get everything you need to brew your own beer at Hop City as well. This is the most complete beer store that I have been in and will be buying my beer from Hop City for a very long time.
(Note: Hop City also has an incredible wine selection and the employees are very knowledgeable about their wines. This isn't the forum for this, but may be good to know.

Hop City was great!
We were in town for the Petit LeMans race, and wanted some track beers as well as some big craft brews to take home from Atlanta, and this was a great stop.
The selection is well categorized and the staff were very helpful in answering all my questions about what they had. The draught selection for growlers was a nice touch, but unnecessary in a store where you can find a beer for any taste.
I especially appreciated the homebrew and Belgian sections. If great beer stores lack for anything, it's usually these two areas. The prices were what you would expect for craft beers, and the wine selection looked pretty great, too (not that we had time to take more than a glance with how full our beer cart was). Definitely recommend to beer and wine lovers alike for stocking up.
