Poured froma 12 oz. can. Has a golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is very sweet, a bit fruity.Taste is, well, different. Lots of malts, some sweetness, a bit of apple and slight hints of banana. Feels light in the mouth and overall is a mediocre beer.

A medium sized white head falls pretty quickly into the thinning lacing above a semi-opaque orangish-yellow golden colored beer.

A light sour grains aroma with some very light spice atributes, but not really enough to tell which or what they are.

Again with the lighter wettish tasting beer with just a hint of oranges and lighter sour grains.

The aftertaste borders on have a slight dryness to almost have a wetness to it and it harbors none or maybe very little taste with this light bodied hefeweizen.

Like their Blacktop Blonde this beer would best be suited to an adventure where quantity is more desired.

I made sure that the CANtents were well shaken before undertaking the Crack so as to get their precious hefe into suspension. It was a pretty full CAN and the inverted Glug took all of the mastery that I could muster as the head was foaming up quickly. For all of it that I started out with, I ended up with less than a finger of thin, foamy, bone-white head with limited retention. Color was a slightly hazy (not cloudy) sunshine-yellow. Nose had an odd caramel/ butterscotch aroma and my initial thought was Diacetyl. Mouthfeel was thin and watery and the taste was unlike any hefeweizen that I could remember. It tasted more of musty yeast than citrus fruit. Ugh. The CANQuest (TM) rules of engagement state that I must drink it all for it to count, but this was doing nothing to endear me to the style. Finish was semi-dry, but the taste was completely off. Where was this gem made? Monroe, Wisconsin! Say no more. And I won't.

Pours a murky honey orange with a foamy orange-white head that settles to a thin cap on top of the beer. Foamy streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, wheat, and banana baby food. Taste is much the same with a sweet grain flavor on the finish. This beer has a low level of carbonation with an almost flat mouthfeel. Overall, this is a poor beer that is a bad example of the style.

Poured from a 12 oz can. It had a similar appearance to other Hefeweizens on the pour, but cleared up fairly quickly.

Smell contained a hint of orange, but was dominated by the smell of yeast, but sort of stale.

First few sips were initially bland with a slight orange flavor. This gave way to a slightly stale yeasty taste. The spicy notes of the flavor disappeared behind the bland yet stale taste of the beer through the finish. Did not have strong characteristics of a Hefeweizen.

Golden color with a touch of amber in the glass. Nice foam and well-carbonated in the mouth. Slight nose of caramel.

Faint touch of the Hefeweizen esters but mostly the pale wheat. This is sweeter than most American style wheats with a distinct light caramel flavor. Tastes quite malty, in fact, considering the modest alcohol, which the brewer says is 5.0% ABV. Hops are pretty well missing, but brewer claims an unlikely 28 IBU. Perfectly drinkable, and there are probably few other beers in the 24 oz can that would be this decent. You'd expect Ice House Light.

Contract brewed by Minhas Craft Brewery, which is why it says Monroe, Wisconsin on the can. These are the folks who make a lot of beer for Trader Joe's. From the can purchased at Whole Foods, of all places.

Big ass 24 oz. can poured into a weizen glass. Pours a golden with a touch of haze and offers an inch or so of slightly off white foam. Standard retention and some light lace follow. Clears up a bit too much with time.

Offers an interesting aroma of dispersed banana, with a bit of yeast spice. But then not really. Aroma is just plain weird. Not detecting much wheat here, just some pale pale malt.

Neutral grainy notes and some lemon on the tongue. Bit sweet and under attenuated. Bready at times but mostly odd. Bit of spice. Overall dry and coarse and not a hefe or even an american version thereof. Really?

Not the pour review I found with others on this board. Lighter than other hefe's and really an American version of the style. Price was more affordable than BlueMoon and I found an equal alternative.

Rusty/light amber color, clean citrus, orange peel nose, lean mid palate, refreshing with some light cream notes, short finish. refreshing, no dicernable flaws.

Pour - pale straw color with a thin white head, solid carbonation. No cloudiness as you might see in other hefeweizens. This one appears filtered, clean and clear.

Aroma - a big whiff and i get some stewed cereal grains, light citrus notes, an essence of apples and floralness.

Taste - first sip brings about some nice honey and light caramel flavors along with a little lemon peel. Some light cider flavors and nice floral notes. Carbonation levels make this dance on the palate and go down smoothly. A little dry in the finish.

Overall - refreshing. Hits the marks as a session-able hefe that is light on the palate with some nice malt sweetness and hints of citrus. Great option for folks who like a lighter beer and aren't looking for a bland yellow light lager. Ths is an Americanized and session-ized version of the style that has some drinkability qualities that might be hard to beat.

12oz can with no freshness date. Ingredients state barley, water, hops and yeast ... what no wheat? Assume it is a typo. Labeling also suggests the use of fruit.

LOOK: Quickly fading head, cloudy straw.

SMELL: Grainy, bready, yeast, hint of lemon, faint herbal hop, floral, cotton candy.

TASTE: Crisp, slick, sweet up front, grainy, yeasty, vague fruit, hint of floral and herbal tones.

Not much to this beer and with a lack of any character and lack of a decent head sort of leaves me at a loss for this brew. I rally behind this beer style as there are a handful of great ones, this one sadly does not even comes close to hitting that mark.
