This is usually my go-to place for beer.
Their selection is giant, with a full complement of US craft beers and imports from pretty much any country that distributes beer. From what I've seen, this Binny's carries every beer that is distributed to IL. The also conveniently (yet not extremely obviously) organize the US craft beers west coast ---> east coast. Very nice touch, that.
They also started the make your own six pack area, which is great for trying out beers that you want to try, but don't want to risk buying a six pack of. There are about 175 beers in the mix a six section and it costs $9.99 for a six pack. This is more than reasonable. The beers, while not all great and all super rare, are pretty good. You'll occasionally find some surprises lurking in the mix a six (picked up a retired beer once, Summit Gold Sovereign.)
They carry quite a few imports that you can't find anywhere else (full range of Fantome products, for example,) and beer from smaller foreign breweries. The selection is truly vast.
Jim, the beer...guy, is knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. Kyle and Chris, the other beer guys, are also very good.
They handle special releases quite well. I've successfully acquired 120 Minute and Hopslam from them with no issues. I'm sure it'd be equally as painless to acquire BCBS or King Henry, if I was interested.
Prices are about standard. Some are higher than other places...some are lower, but most are the same.
They also have an extremely vast wine and liquor selection, if that's your bag.
Overall, this is a great place to purchase beer. I go out of my way all the time to go here. Couldn't really ask for anything more in a beer store.

The best Binny's I've ever been to, bar none. Very nice, well-lit, clean store with very knowledgeable employees. Tons of available parking in the shared lot as well. I had asked if a couple new releases were still on the shelves and the fella ran in back and dug up one that was on my list. Their day-to-day selection is outstanding as well, it seems like they started carrying JP and FW before my local Binny's did. Speaking of Firestone Walker, I went in this week and they had several cases of the XV Anniversary on hand. Not a bad haul, if you ask me.

Was driving aroung my old neighborhood and saw a new binny's. This location has an amazing selection with an even better layout. One of the most inexpensive places to find great craft beer for low prices due to the low taxes. Very willing to work with you if you have a specific request for a certain barrel or bottle. Every hop head in the area should mark this place down as a must see. Just like the other Binny's they offer great specials and feature beer tasting events. Example, I was able to pick up a 750ml of delirium for $7.50 because i was part of their "membership card." Everyother place in the area charges $10 a bottle.

Hit up this location after skiing at Alpine Valley, which was pretty much on the way if you're heading back to Chicago or the west suburbs.
A - Beautiful, huge, well laid out store. Easy to get to, ample parking, blah blah.
Ser - Was greeted, but not approached. It was a Sunday night about 10 minutes before closing, so I'm not going to ding them too hard. Plenty of staff around and I even saw an open beer on the desk over in the craft section, so I can only assume the beer guy and/or other staff like and know about what they're selling.
Sel -Massive. Probably the biggest selection I've seen to date. An entire 100 foot wall is littered with import after import, just about anything you could hope for. I didn't linger long in the import section, but I did notice the old standby's such as Rochefort, Struise, Hanssens, lots of Mikkeler (including new releases), Duvel, Chimay, etc. The rest of the craft selection was great as well, tons of variety. I saw Half Acre Gossamer, which puzzled me because I didn't think that got far out of Chicago, but good for you Algonquinites.
Solid store that I'd like to return to to really check everything out because the store and selection are really that massive.

IMO, the KING of all Binny's around the area. A bit of a drive for me but last year, they had (during Christmas of 2009) some of the original JP La Parcela...which honestly was not supposed to get out of MI but to a few places, and obviously this Binny's got some.
Over summer they still had BCBCS on the shelves and I purchased a few here.
Over Christmas this year (2010) it was not "as" impressive in the sense they didn't have a ton of "can't get anywhere else" stuff, but again, the selection was much better than other Binny's. This is THE place to go around here. Hands down a great place. I will always go here when in town despite it being a 45 min drive.

Well another in the long chain of chain beer stores. What can I say. It's Binny's. Two full isles of craft beer. Vast array of American craft as well as a plethora of imports. Stock seems turned over well. No dates were glaringly old. Seasonals were on par with the time of year.
The service is always helpful at every Binny's I've been to. Although I do hate it when they see my out of state ID and have to have someone verify it.
There are very few things at Binny's that really excite me. Since Discount in Milwaukee carries pretty much everything I need. They do have a few gems though. So I always stop when I'm south of the border. Taxes in IL are a killer though. So I only pick out things that are impossible finds in WI.

Love this place. I'm totally spoiled, as this is the closest Binny's to me, and happens to be the best of the suburban locations, from the 6 or so I've visited. Vast selection of domestics, really almost every Midwestern beer that's distributed to the county is represented (and well). Displays are clean and organized, by the time I've put something in my cart, another 6pk or bomber is taking its place on the shelf. Imported beers well represented as well. Lots of information (like BA ratings) on the shelf talkers, great way to help steer the customers to the good stuff. Jim and Jeff do a great job , and will talk to you all you want about beer - and give you their straight opinions on something if you ask. Only a couple of things I could see improving the experience here - not nearly enough cooler space. There's not an easy fix to that because there's just so MUCH beer - but not a big deal, haven't had much beer that's noticeably been affected by storage conditions. And not something they can control, but would love to see some of the "city-only" beers ( Half Acre) out this way - then probably 100% of my beer $ would go here. Prices are pretty comparable to other beer stores nearby, some times a little higher, sometimes a little lower (especially when they have deals using their loyalty card.
In all, nearly the perfect beer store. I love bringing out of town guests here, they always come away impressed. My kids know it as "Daddys Toy Store".

This is what a liquor store, better yet a craft beer store should be! This place is incredible. New and clean and very well organized, by country, region, and style, very easy to find what you are looking for. Better yet, if its distributed in the area, they will most certainly have it. They move through product quickly so no worries about getting a bad bottle, just got to check your release dates to get your beer before its gone!
Service is top notch. The best I have ever recieved/seen at a beer store. They seem to always have at least one "beer consultant" on the floor, who are all very knowledgeable and willing to help. When they first opened they carried no Fantome, I asked about this, the beer orderer told me he would see what they could do, I was in there a month later and they had a few of their bottles on the shelves! (I am sure it was not solely because of me, but that gets big points in my book).
If you have never been here, go, now, and bring a credit card, you will feel like a kid in a candy shop! It is really that good!

YES, THE RUMORS ARE TRUE.
I always loved the Binny's in Schaumburg, but I live about a mile down the road from this Binny's so when it opened up, needless to say, I was excited. It's huge with a great selection. The selection differs from other Binny's locations mainly due to the ordering of the beer staff. Now that they've been open for some time they know what turns around decently and what doesn't sell.
Speaking of the staff, they're polite, knowledgeable, and actually interested in what they sell. They're great to share information with, talk about upcoming releases, and they'll even keep an eye out from certain releases that you're looking for, even if it's not on the usual order slip.
The place is always clean and they seem to do things right. The bottle conditioned beer that should be kept in the cooler, will always be in the cooler. With the exception of the few bottles that need to be visible, the beer is kept in the case as to keep it out of the light.

Trekked up here with VDubb86, just to see if the vaunted rumors were in any way accurate. On initial observation, it seems like any other larger Binny's. Upon closer inspection, the selection is a decent degree larger than others, with several selections I haven't seen elsewhere in the area. Ask VDubb: I danced on many sightings. Seriously. One of the employees chatted us up a bit, and they made sure that if we needed help we would be taken care of. Prices are as reasonable as at other locations. Despite the greatness of my local Binny's (LZ), I can see myself rocking the way up to this one several times for random enjoyment.
