Presentation: 12 oz brown bottle with a “best before end” date clearly printed.
Appearance: Semi clear yellow with a pretty healthy white lace.
Smell: Stale dried orange peel and coriander with light lemon fruitiness.
Taste: Slightly smooth slick malty mouth feel, straight clean malt comes first then melds with a faint spicy and tart flavour of hops and fruitiness. Mildly peppery and grain make a small showing upon the taste buds. Tastes of citric and coriander flavour come late.
Notes: Great stab at the style, certainly up to par with their Belgian neighbors. I enjoyed this brew very much and had a hard time thinking of a domestic beer that could match it except for Allagash White. A brew to give a try for sure.

Served on-tap at Cafe t'Molentje in Amsterdam. Served in its own branded glass. On to the beer:
This witbier is paler yellow in color with a haziness and whisps of lace sticking around the glass. The nose is spicy; big spicy coriander note with pepper, and a kiss of tart lemon. That will perk you up in the late morning. Still quite spicy to taste, though there's a little more fruitiness to stand up. Lemon comes first, then quick pepper and coriander notes. The beer gaines a fruitiness similar to orchard fruits with more sips. The beer is lighter medium, with a pleasant crispness.
Pleasant enough wit, although its spiciness takes some getting used to.

On-tap at Het Konings Huis, Delft, Netherlands
A: The beer is hazy pale yellow in color and has no visible carbonation. It poured with a half finger high bright white head that died down, leaving some lacing down the sides of the glass and a collar around the edge.
S: Light to moderate aromas of wheat and orange citrus are present in the nose.
T: Like the smell, the taste has flavors of wheat and orange citrus along with faint hints of coriander.
M: It feels light-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is very easy to drink, thirst quenching and refreshing. It really hits the spot drinking this outside in a square in the sunshine on a nice spring day.

Bottle of 300 ml, at home. ABV 5%.
One finger of white head with average activity in the glass. Colour is pale golden, hazy and semi-transparent body. Foam has an average retention, leabing a thin line lingering around once gone.
Smell of citrus fruits, oranges.
Taste is not as sweet as I expected, with the orange peel quite notable. The korinader gives it some spicy notes, mostly on the aftertaste.
Medium body, very light carbonation. Very drinkable and a very good choice for a hot summer day.

A small 30 cl. bottle poured into a wine glass. Pours with a light haze and a slim cap of foam. Retention and lace are light and the lack of carbonation seems to reveal itself throughout.
Wheaty on the nose though lacking in that 'wit' sense and lacking any definitive spice character.
Taste improves a bit with an arguably odd lemon character along with some imbued spice and a good dose of wheat.
Offers a decent feel with a spritzy lemon delivery. The underbelly remains a bit weak however, a bit lacking in depth and character for the style. Yet quite drinkable nonetheless. Overall a rather lightly spiced wit be it from added spices or the yeast itself.

"Wieckse Witte." Served on draught into a .4L wieckse glass in a cafe in Amsterdam. Cost was 4.00 euro. Reviewed from notes taken July 2010.
A: Pours a one finger head of slight cream, decent thickness, and average retention. Body colour is a cloudy light yellow. Semitransparent.
Sm: Lemon citrus esters including orange peel. Cream and barley. A moderate strength aroma.
T: Refreshing lemon citrus esters with honeycomb and orange peel, all stacked atop a very weak barley foundation. The balrey base is watery and throws off the balance. That said, it's built to refresh and in this it succeeds.
Mf: Smooth and wet - too wet, almost watery.
Dr: A simple refreshing witbier, but a highly priced one by Dutch standards. It's worth a try, and I'd have it again at a lower price.

A - Gold blond, little carbonation, withe head that is slowly retracting until a thin layer remains.
S - Like a white beer, not really nice.
T - Not a bad white beer, some citrus fruit, fresh and light bitter/sour. Faintly some corn. No alcohol present.
M - Medium carbonation, slightly bitter/sour and just a tiny bit of cream in the after taste.
O - A good beer for a warm and sunny day, a thirst quencher, but a bit to blond for a white.

Poured in my Hoegaarden glass.
Murky golden yellow, superb foamy thick head, murky hazy body.
Smells heavy on the clove/coriander/pepper/creamy wheat mix of a great Wit. Orange peel, lemon, and a really funky yeasty background, almost like soured appel, and sour wheat.
Really strong aromas, even more pronounced than Hoegaarden.
Sour apple, orange, lemon, wheat, strong notes of yeast, light biscuit, orange, pepper, clove, coriander, black pepper-all combine to create a superb first, and quick second sip.
The fruit is well pronouced, the spice is distrubuted, and the sour background provided enough level ground to support and enhance the mix.
Little did I know buying this beer today that I would enjoy it much More than Hoegaarden, my go-to standard Witbier.
Very good, spicy light and refreshing-will buy again.

I had this on a recent visit to Amsterdam. I didn't order it myself (not a big Witbier fan) it was brought to me during someone else's turn to buy a round. It's always nice to try the local beers and was glad to have the opportunity to sample this on but I was not blown away.
Appearance is typical for a white, light straw color, very hazy with a large amount of very active carbonation. Flavor was the typical yeasty banana flavor of the style. Not terrible but not my favorite. Overall it was a very easy beer to drink and I'm glad I tried it. Probably wont' get it again.

A foggy yellow golden beer with a good white head that settles slowly leaving some lacing.
The smell is sweet, oranges and cardamom, slightly of sour milk.
The taste is also sweet, lemon and lime, cardamom and some yeast.
Medium carbonation, small bubbles, rather soft, medium body and a syrup feeling.
OK, maybe a bit to sweet. Bought in Breda, NL.

Call me prejudiced but since I detest anything made (or owned) by Heineken Wieckse Witte is no exception. Nevertheless, since my girlfriend thought I'd like it I had to try it.
Packaged in the cowardly 30 cl eurobottles it pours a pale yellow, almost headless glassful. There's almost no yeast, the brew is clear. The thin layer of froth quickly disappears, leaving a ring around the glass inside. The smell is musty and sweet. I can't put my finger on what it tastes like but it's rather sweet. Maybe Nutrasweet, I don't know. It reminds me of the cheapo Lidl Weizenbier (Grafenwalder). Light carbonation. Unpleasant, slightly bitter aftertaste. All in all something I'd avoid, opting for bubbly water instead...
