Dravt at Schooner Exact

A: Poured a brown with good carbonation and a nice white head

S: Toffee,syrup, sugars

T: Some molasses, syrup,nuts, leather and toffee. Nice tasting, actually, one of the btter browns I have had in a while

M: Lighter to medium bodied, just enough booze, toffee and sweetness on the palate with a clean finish

D: Yes, get some

Served in straight pint glass. Poured a clean, clear almost mahogany brown with an inch of light tan head that had moderate retention and decent lacing.

A rich, smooth malty aroma wafts across the nose, with just a hint of hops on the end. The flavors are what were expected. A smooth, clean malt flavor coats the tongue and then there's that tickle of hops at the end.

The body was typical for the style, smooth and tongue coating without being heavy. Drinkability is very good, having several of these would be easy. Overall, a nice pleasant beer, worth your time when you see it.

A deep, ruddy red/brown ale with nutty, caramel flavor and abundant fresh tobacco qualities. Cola notes too. And no shortage of hops. This one's built on a fairly solid brown malt platform with strong hop additions.

Wouldn't mistake King Street for an English ale at all. The zealously over-hopped contours have USA all over them.

Had this beer on tap last night at the Hooverville in Seattle.

Appearance: deep brown-amber hue with a bit of haze to the body. Head is a thin film of tan foam; can't expect much more from a tap pour.

Smell: lightly bready aroma. Not bad, but quite mild.

Taste: sweet malt flavor with a fair bit of caramel character. Smooth earthy bitterness. A little fruit on the aftertaste; interesting but good. I like it quite a bit, actually.

Mouthfeel: rich medium body with good viscosity and a well-integrated carbonation. Creamy and silky. Quite good.

Drinkability: a tasty, solid brown ale. Think I'll have another.

Pint consumed at the Baby Bar in Spokane. FIrst time I'd seen this beer.

Poured a reddish brown color, with a decent sized whiteish head. Rings of lace were left on the sides of the glass.

Mildly sweet caramel notes in the nose, along with some biscuity scents.

Mildly sweet flavor, but with an earthy background flavor. There's also a restrained hop flavor way in the back. Slightly drier in the swallow than most brown ales I've tasted.

Medium bodied, with a coating mouthfeel.

Very drinkable. One of the most sessionable brown ales I've had. Most of the time I fine this style too sweet for repeated glasses, but this one is so well balanced that I feel like I could drink it all night.

Poured from a bomber. Reviewed live.

A- Poured a small half-finger head, tan colored with low retention. Small bubbles, deep brown color with low clarity.

S- Chocolaty malts, toffee, some mocha, hazelnut. No real hop presence. Malts are warm and candied.

T- Roast malts play with hazelnut and chocolate on the palate. The flavors mix well, and do not underwhelm. I enjoy this warm and rich flavor.

M- Medium-to-light bodied. Thicker farther back on the tongue.

O- Well above average. Very tasty, nice feel and smell.

Gentle cocoa soft floral hop front. Smooth mild sweet refreshing brown biscoti mild chocolate fruit hint body. Cloying mild sweet light toffee cocoa fruit end. Well made with subtle hops. Sampled 1/22/2011. Purchased for $10.25 after $5.50 growler deposit at PCC--Fremont, Seattle on 1/22/2011.

Beer is a nice light brown with a small head. Aroma is a bit malty and hints of coffee. Flavor is smooth, with notes of oatmeal, cocoa, and sweet malts. Its a nice balanced brown. Not too sweet, very low carbonation. This makes this one a brown you can actually have several of. Its light enough that it doesn't weigh you down. The flavor however is average, yet still a nice enough session Brown.
