When my Colorado Springs Beer Buddy told me that he had discovered beertopia, I knew something good was coming. We like to find a laid back, easy going place with good, fresh, interesting, craft beers. That is what he found. We bellied up to the bar and talked to the bartender over a great sampler which included St Florian, a lightly smoked wheat that was out of this world. The beers are interesting and so is the story. Most of the staff works for tips and brewing internship. We also tried a millet beer. Right now it's not much to speak of. But, it is a test for the foundation of something to come. I can't wait to see what they do with it. Hospitality and creativity abound here.
While you are there, check out the brew shop. I don't brew (yet), but the store is interesting and inviting and, again, filled with good conversation.

Considering the brewery and taproom are in a steel industrial building in an out-of-the-way corner of Colorado Springs, the vibe is great. Part of the vibe is the B'z BBQ trailer out front that seems to be a semi permanent part of the establishment. On that note, I gave a 4 for food based on B'z being there. The beers are fine, the "craft" soda is good and I'd love to go back and spend a little more time there.

I am the first reviewer simply because the listing used to include "Brewery", which precludes Beer Fly reviews. However, they do have a tasting room where they fill growlers, plus this allows people to review the homebrew and BOP segment of their operation.
And what an operation it was! It was a wee tiny little place with a short "L'-shaped blonde wood bar for tasting of their beers. The homebrew shop was off to the left of the bar while the brewery and BOP were off to the right. For breweriana types, a line of vintage CANs lined the overhead above the entry into the homebrew shop. It was a real case of what you saw was what you got. I would say that the homebrew shop was adequately stocked, but for me, the draw would be the the BOP opportunity. We have nothing of the sort in PA and I am not a homebrewer, but it might be interesting to try my hand at it.
