Located in a former firehouse, Engine 11 is very convenient to MARTA rail - a big plus. Their beer selection is not great, but they do have some good locals and craft brews. Their food is very good - the spinach/avocado dip I like, and one of my friends says that their burgers are first-rate. Service is admirable and fairly quick - you don't have to wait too long to get served, or for your food or beer. This is definitely a waterhole worth patronizing. I hope they have more luck than The Spotted Dog, which was at this same location and lasted only a couple years.

I walked in and I thought it had a nice atmosphere to it, but it kind of a dead night -- this near GT's campus on a Tuesday in the summer, it didn't seem like it was going to get packed or anything. Bartender was cool though, and he took my order, which took a couple of replacements because the first three beers I wanted had already been kicked so I settled for a 60 minute. Nothing wrong with that, but I pretty much get that everywhere.
Selection was fair to good to decent minus the three Sweetwater beers that were mysteriously kicked. Burgers were great, but probably could have come down a buck or two price. Service was fine.

Went here recently for a function.
Atmosphere is good. The downstairs has a few TV's along with a good amount of booths and tables adjacent to a bar on the left side covering the entire wall. Additional tables are outside (between 7-10) for smokers. Upstairs is a party room with it's own bar and bathroom and pictures of the building as a firehouse along with the firefighters who worked there. Expect to pay for parking.
Quality is good. Drinks came in generic glassware with proper head at a good temperature.
Service is good. I never had to wait long for a drink and both people I ordered from seemed to know what was and was not on-tap.
Selection was alright. Certainly better than the average bar (Flying Dog, Abita, Sweetwater, etc.) but nothing really worth writing home about. The one beer I wanted to dry (Old Dominion's Oak Aged Stout) they were out of.
Value was good. It's a bit more expensive, probably thanks to the midtown location, but nothing over the top.
