Ouch! 16oz pour? Jeebus! Looks a cloudy dark brown-red. Mega-thick lacing. Intimidating-looking, in a good way.
Smells of candi sugar, sweet dark fruits, cherry, caramel, and cordial. Estery yeast and chiming booze. This is a big one.
Sweet toffee, red fruits, candi sugar, nectarine, cherry, plum, clove, hint of cinnamon, toastiness, and a hell of a lot of booze. Tastes tangy in a great yeasty way. Huge, in a scary way. Wowsers.
Drinks super-duper smooth in the body. Feels like cashmere. Carbonation is appropriately feisty. Booze is on overdrive, however, and murders the drinkability.
One tasty draft beer. Wish I had one of these for Christmas. Great representation.

Had this on 2012-12-21 in Columbia, PA from a 5-hour old growler from the Pittsburgh pub.
A - Cloudy dark amber with a short light tan head and mild lacing. Got less opaque as it warmed.
S - Bubblegum and clove like a weizenback. Fruity Belgian yeast. Caramel candy apple. Touch of alcohol.
T - Pretty sweet, raisins, brown sugar, bubblegum, clove, little bit of fig. Mid tongue is like cinnamon on a tart orange and lots of sweet and dark cherry. A bit of balancing hop bitterness.
M - Medium body and carbonation. Syrupy but with cleansing carbonation.
O - A festive, holiday brew. Better than their Christmas ale.

This poured out as a reddish brown color with a thin cream colored head. The retention was minimal as well as the lacing. The smell of the beer gave off some decent spicy notes and some sweet malts. The taste of the beer was slightly bready with a decent mix of spices, sweet grains and candi sugar. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with a moderate carbonation level. Overall it's not a bad beer, not really too exciting though either.

Pours a deep amber color with an off white head. In the aroma, a small dark fruit and spices. In the taste, lots of spices, dark fruits, and a note of alcohol. A spice bite and a medium bodied mouthfeel, with a semi dry spice and dark fruit in the aftertaste. Quite nice, and it almost feels like a quad.

A- Pours a clear dark amber color with a fairly thin egg shell colored head. Head becomes a very thin layer of bubbles and leaves pretty much no lacing.
S- Smell is pretty spice over all. Spice is a combination of the yeast and holiday spices. Quite a bit of sweetness here brown sugar and darker fruits.
T- Taste is very malt forward. Quite sweet with brown sugar, plums, raisins and figs leading the way. A good amount of spice too. A touch of alcohol warmth here.
M- Fuller side of medium and a good amount of carbonation.
O- A very solid brew. Pretty impressive.

Enjoyed this on tap at Fat’s head.
A: Pours a dark amber-brown color with a thin 1-finger white head that quickly dissipates into a wispy lace.
S: Sweet caramel aroma with hints of spicy yeast.
T: Similar to the smell this beer is sweet with lots of caramel flavors. Hints of dark fruits and candy sugar in the background.
M: Medium body and minimal carbonation.
O: Super strong Belgian ale – but easily drinkable and very enjoyable.

On tap at Fat Heads Pgh.
A: Pours a clear dark amber color that is nice an brown in the middle with some lighter orangish and reddish hues on the edges. Provides a very small off white foam head that dissipates to a film. Very minimal lacing.
S: As it warms it gets better, but it is still not as potent as you would expect. There are hints of brown sugar, caramel and dark fruit. The main smell here is the alcohol. It is inviting though.
T: Starts off with a thick coating of brown sugar and caramel. Very sweet but not over the top sweet. In the middle the dark fruits such as plums and raisins comes to the fore front. On the backend, there is more brown sugar and caramel along with a slight hint of alcohol.
M: Leaves a thick and sweet taste on the palate. Good carbonation for this full style beer.
O: This was a tasty Beligan Strong Dark Ale. Ample amounts of malt sweetness. Definitely worth a try if you see it in Pgh or Cleveland.

Live review. Poured from the growler that I bought at Fat Head's about a month ago. I am happy to say that the cap came off with a satisfying "pffft" indicating that it was air tight. Poured into my Fat Head's Brewery rastal 0.5L Weizen glass.
A Translucent dark mahogany body under a medium light brown, creamy head. Nice, creamy head that further tells me that this beer stood up well in the growler. 4.0
S Sweet medium roast malt, candy sugar sweetness with little to no hops smell. I find it interesting and inviting. 4.0
T Medium roast sweet malt in a candy sugar kind of taste along with dark fruits/raisins. Very little to no hops in a nice craft Belgian Strong Dark Ale. 4.0
M An appropriate moderate syrupy sweetness to the feel and of course the feel overall is huge with the high ABV, high sweetness and dark fruit tastes. 4.0
D Good for this level of ABV which would not normally lend itself to repeated drinks. 3.5
