Bronze in color. Sudsy head with escaping gas reduced to a soapy film. 3.0
Very mild aroma. Toasted malts, perfumey hops, and an almost apple-y sweetness. Muted, but nice. 3.5
Good ol' burly Marzen beer. A flair for the bitter and rugged, but supported by spare sweet malty notes. Tastes like kilned grain, spicy hops, and finishes a little sweet and cereal-like. 3.5
Feels great. Nice balance of carb and medium body. Not too sweet, but there's a little stick around the mouth. 4.0
A shortcoming for the Fat Head's standard, but still very enjoyable. 3.5

Fat Head's Oktoberfest
Fat Heads Brewery & Saloon
Style: Märzen / Oktoberfest
ABV: 5.00 %
LOOK: Dark copper/brown colored brew with an inch of slightly off-white head. Pours perfectly clear and pretty handsome. A fine looking Oktoberfest.
SMELL: Big time aroma of caramel and even a little toffee. Floral hop and sweet bready notes abound from the beer.
TASTE: In the flavor, toasted malts and caramel are nicely complimented by a resinous, pithy hop character that goes perfect with the solid malt foundation. Seems like the choice was American hops instead of some noble varieties, as there was a nice herbal resinous qualities that provided a good bitterness and overall balance.
FEEL: Medium bodied and well carbonated, with a small hop bite, and lingering malty flavor. Drinks easily and packs a lot of flavor.
OVERALL: Surprised by how truly solid this Oktoberfest is, which can rival many examples of the style. The overall cleanness of flavor is commendable. Another testament to the fine work being done at Fatheads brewery,

Live review. Poured from tap into a clean, clear pint glass. Notes from brewery: Imported German Malts give this Fest Bier a deep copper color which is balanced by imported by German Noble Hops. This beer is smooth and highly drinkable. Prost!
A Pours a satisfying translucent copper with a moderate, fluffy, bubbly head. 3.0
S Moderate roast malt and barley in the front with hops playing a supporting role. Nice, solid Oktoberfest smell. 3.5
T The smell is highly suggestive of the taste. Only the malt carries more of the taste than the smell suggested. 3.5
M Thin to moderate feel, contributing to its high drinkability. It is right on with the style. 3.5
D Very good as the style suggests. 4.5
