250ml bottle as an extra from Weine, thanks! Poured into CCB snifter.

A - Pours a dark ruby reddish/brown color, off-white smallish head, thin ring around the glass and some spotty film here and there.

S - Dark cherries, some sour/tart notes, oak.

T - Not overly tart/sour, slightly sweet cherries, but the oak is a little too much and creates an unappealing finish.

M - Light, good carbonation, semi-dry finish.

D - Decent but not an outstanding oud bruin. Would probably reach for Red Poppy or something like that instead.

250ml bottle poured into my Narke tulip, thanks to Sean for this rare tick... A dark maroon, with purple notes. A light tan head forms a thick ring, light lacing... The aroma is really good, smells like an oud bruin with a hint of red wine and oak and some nice grapes... The taste is not as successful a little too chemical with a flat finish and way too much oak. A interesting tart note that I like but the finish kills me.

Ditmier provided this at a small recent tasting... tiny little 250 ml bottle... but for the given complexities and huge ABV... any more would have been too much.

Deep dark brown... hazy with a yeast flecked tan head...

Nose bursts with thick cherries and some mild woodiness... good vinegar but never burning..

Rich deep fruitiness shows the obvious cherries and something that I place as strawberry ... lemon and a tad more acetic qualities than the nose.... good woody tannins help balance out the sweetness... alcohol does burn a bit down the gullet... fairly large body with a descent carbonation that helps cut through the thickness and the sugars.

Thanks a ton Eric... I've heard of these guys before and then forgot about them almost as quickly.... very cool to try this one.

A: Dark brown with reddish hues. Rather hazy. A small beige head that settles quickly into a thin ring of foam.

S: A rich and powerful smell. Cherries, some apples and a distinct but not harsh smell of vinegar. Barrel flavors and a somewhat nutty character. A light sting from the alcohol. The smell is quite nice actually.

T: A rich and complex taste. A sweet fruitiness of cherries, apples and red currants up front. Very vinous. After the sweetness comes a well balanced tartness with some sour notes. Some vinegar. Prominent flavor of oak barrels and a nutty character. Balsamic vinegar. Very good mix of sweet and tart flavors. In the finish there is a semi-sharp sourness that's reminiscent of tart red wine. Slightly funky in the finish with spicy and warming alcohol, and lingering notes of cherries.

M: Full bodied with a very restrained and soft carbonation. Rather smooth.

D: This is kind of a strange beer, but I really liked it. It's very vinous and drinks like a fine wine. A very powerful fruit beer.

Bottle. Pours a dirty red with no real head. Aroma of sweet cherries, oak, vanilla. Flavor of sweet tart candies, wood, and cherry juice. Perhaps some alcohol notes--the palate is a little harsh. You probably couldn't guess this was 11% but it is strong. Smells better than it tastes. It was just alright for me.
