Pours a clear golden yellow with a 1 inch puffy white head that fades to a film on the top of the beer. Random splotches and dots of lace form on the glass on the drink down. Smell is pretty weak but if I smell hard enough I get grains, corn flakes, and grass/hay aromas. Taste is of sweet grains, slight cornflakes, with a herbal grass/hay hop finish. Very mild bitterness on the palate after each sip. This beer has a pretty good level of carbonation with a crisp and clean mouthfeel. Overall, this an average lager and my first beer from Montenegro. Not too shabby for what it is.

A: Pours a crystal clear medium straw yellow in color with some very light amounts of visible carbonation and some light golden yellow highlights. The beer has a finger tall foamy white head that slowly reduces to a medium patch of thin film with a very thin film covering the majority of the rest of the surface of the beer and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Light aromas of cereal grain malts with fairly significant amounts of corn and grain sweetness. There are also slightly lighter notes of floral and grassy hop aromas.

T: Light to moderate flavors of cereal grain malts and bready malts and there is a light amount of sweetness upfront. The grassy hops contribute some light amounts of lingering bitterness.

M: Light bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Very light amounts of dryness in the finish.

O: The smell is all American Adjunct Lager but the flavors are better than that with some more notes of a Pilsener. Overall, not a horrible beer (my expectations were pretty low) and pretty easy to drink but don't think I will be seeking it out again.

A: The beer is crystal clear straw yellow in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a finger high bright white head that died down, but consistently left a thin head covering the surfaced and moderate lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Light aromas of corn and grainy malts are present in the nose, which also has some hints of floral and grassy hops.
T: The taste is similar to the smell, except that that the adjunct malts aren't that noticeable and there are also some hints of sweet, bready malts. The hops contribute a light amount of bitterness that lingers through the finish.
M: It feels light-bodied and a little dry on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer smells like a typical adjunct lager, however the taste isn't that bad since the flavors of corn are mostly masked from the taste.

Poured a finger of head on a clear, light straw colored body.
The aroma is grain and honey.
The taste is malty with a touch of bitterness, and (bonus) hardly any sweetness. Quite nice.
The texture is frothy, light body and moderate carbonation.
The texture and taste were pretty good. A well above average adjunct lager.

Nikšićko resembles a light beer. The taste of Nikšićko could be considered smooth. There are no strong flavours that would distract from the taste of this beer. Nikšićko could be considered a light beer.

its another standard euro lager, but there is a lot less to hate about his one. also my first brew from montenegro. pours pale and standard yellow gold color, but with a decent white milky head that lasts a few minutes. smells like it looks, mild malts, bittering hops only, and a faint metallic tang. flavor is pretty decent, comparatively speaking. the malts seem to be fresh and upbeat, while the metal taste is absent entirely. mouthfeel is fine, standard carbonation and a touch more body than its peers. im not about to call this an excellent beer, but in the balkan universe of less than awesome beer, i can work with this one.

Niksiko Pivo has a medium-to-thick, cream-colored head, lots of streaming bubbles, some lacing, and a clear, golden appearance. The aroma is of sweet, lightly toasted malt. Taste is similar, with sweet, light barley malt, biscuit, some paper, and a decent hop bitterness to balance it out. Mouthfeel is light and watery, and Niksicko Pivo finishes crisp, clean, refreshing, mostly dry, and very easy drinking. Overall, this beer is delicious.

500 mL can poured at 40F into a Duvel tulip

A: As pale lagers go, this one has a stellar look. Straw yellow with a high and dense white head that drops very slowly leaving chunks of lacing. Not what I was expecting here.
S: Well, there goes my love. Corn and cooked vegetables. Light earthy hop aroma that quickly becomes virtually imperceptible. Meh.
T: Not nearly as disappointing as the aroma. There's not much going on here as the body is thin and has no discernible bitterness, with only a hint of corn sweetness. Light grainy notes. Cooked cabbage in the background. About what I expected when I found out I bought a plain old lager.
M: Macro lager. Thin body, high carbonation (though not as high as some) and no lingering flavours (which is a definite plus as too many macros have nastiness lingering).
O: I am not a ticker, but I figured I should try something from a country I will never visit. Next time I review something from Montenegro, it will be a better beer.

Pale straw yellow apperance but with thick white head leaving decent retention. Smell consists of grain, corn and grass, nothing different from other Euro lagers.

Taste is similar to the smell, mainly corn and grass. Has a clean malty taste as well as a hint of spices and bread. Light-medium bodied with high carbonation. Aftertaste is oddly sweet and spicy.

After a few bad experiences with balkin beers, this isn't to bad. A little bland if compared to other European beers, but drinkable. Worth it to drink a beer from Montenegro.

Mom brought this back from France for me.

Into tulip.

A- Very nice clear gold. Tight white foam on top. Good amount of retention and lacing. Kind of pilsner like only the liquid is a few shades darker.

S- Doesn't seem as offensive to me as most American adjunct lagers. Very little smell actually. Rating the smell is peculiar: It doesn't smell like much, but at least it doesn't smell bad (like many AALs.

T- Very thin without exactly being watery. Nice hop bite in the finish. One of the cleanest american adjunct lagers I've tasted. Might be the best one I've tasted.

M- Crisp right from the start. Not as dry as it is crisp. Medium body for the style. Medium carbonation. Nice soft foaming in mouth.

O- I don't drink many of these but I think this is one of the best tasting beers in the style.

If I visited Montenegro or whatever other country where this was a staple, I wouldn't have as much trouble drinking this as others. I'm actually recommending this.

What a nice surprise.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass.

Look - very pale straw color, clear, with only a little bit of off-white foam. Lots of carbonation.

Smell - fairly "cerealy" smelling, just like an adjunct beer. Not much aroma other than that.

Taste and Mouthfeel - the taste is like a lighter pale lager, but some of the spice is stronger. Still not much else there. The texture is actually fairly well-balanced.

Overall - not a bad beer, but not complex at all.

Picked up a bottle at EuroMarket in Astoria. Right off the bat, I'd say this is a legitimate Czech pilsner. There was a mild, light toasty malt with spicy, peppery hops. It finished dry and was very easy to drink - a fine lawnmower beer. The character is muted to compared to top Czech pilsners, but this is clearly well within the style.

Pale lager; clear with two finger head that dissolves moderately.

Distinct hop smell, slightly citrus and flowery smell with a slight hint of hops.

Mildly herbal and hop taste.

Smooth mouthfeel, slightly neutral aftertaste.

Had this beer from bottle and on tap a few times in Montenegro; above average drinkability.

Served into a pint glass from a 500 ml. bottle at the recommended serving temperature of 5 degrees Celsius. Pours a clear deep straw with a light apparent carbonation. A thin white cap is short lived as a result.

Sweet corn and grain on the nose. Nothing too distracting but rather light overall and with a bit of funky lemon after some exposure.

Smooth creamy body, somewhat slick and sweet in nature. Finishes with a slightly astringent lemon character and a hint of spice and toasted bread. Feel is rich though lacking in carbonation and actually feels a bit better direct from the bottle. A bit too heavy on the palate for me.

A: Pouring it into a small cup it's a bright clear pale.

S: Touch of grain. Not much else.

T: Very watery.

Is I already say, only good beer from that region comes from Bosnia . like: Sarajevko, Tuzlanski pilsner, Erster...

Served in a Gale Sayers shaker pint glass.

Finally, Montenegro is in the database (and I can tick it)! This representative thereof pours a clear pale straw topped by a short half-finger of short-lived white foam. The nose comprises stale wheat, hard water, corn, and rice husks. The taste doesn't seem to want to deviate from this appointed path too much, though a sickly sweet vein of corn syrup finds its way through, marring the experience further. Making matters somehow worse is an aftertaste of toasted rice that does not want to go away. Talk about malingering! The body is a hefty-feeling light, with a light carbonation and a watery feel. Overall, another sad beer from the former Yugoslavia. Apparently only Croatia has figured brewing out since Dayton. Go figure.

500ml can, best before Feb 5, 2011.

This beer pours a clear, apple-juice golden colour, with two fingers of loose soapy white head, which dissipates quickly, leaving some sparse webbed lace around the glass. It smells of wet cardboard, corn mash, and grassy, weedy hops. The taste is dry, astringent grain, a bit phenolic, nail polish remover creeping in, and more weedy, almost skunky hops. The carbonation is moderate, the body light, fizzy, and kind of clingy. It finishes dry, with airs of crispness that are tamped down by a lingering cloyingness.

While there are hints of a decent Euro lager here, too many Euro-swill markers spoil the party. Not particularly enjoyable.

Poured into a glass mug. A clear yellow with a one finger bubbly white head which soon diminishes ti a ring. No lacing to speak of.

This beer actually doesn't smell very good. Kind of rank. Grainy. It tastes much better than the smell. Sweet malts and moderate hops.. A metallic finish.

Medium light body. Drinkability is moderate. Not bad really but nothing that I would seek out.
