Served from a 341Ml bottle
A: Beautiful ruby red color when pressed against the light. Otherwise the beer has a rather red/brown appearance and is fairly opaque. Small one finger head that died down quickly and left some, but rather minimal, lacing up the sides of my glass.
S: Not much in this department. There really is very little for the nose to pick up on. Caramel like malts are present but extremely faint. Sweet smelling with no real hop presence available to the nose.
T: The initial sip provides delicious caramel tasting malts. There is also a nice toasty character. The malts are soon balanced out by the bitter taste of the hops however. The taste is really not too complex.
M: Pretty thin feeling. Carbonation is minimal and the beer goes down quiet smooth.
O: This really seems like a dressed up session beer to me. Not really in the same league as McAuslans other brews in my opinion. Something I could sit down and enjoy if I had to but there's much better on the market. That being said it could make a good session beer for someone looking to branch out. Kind of bland but you could do worse.

one of the only beers on tap and a fancy wine white table cloth french place in old montreal. it pours perfectly clear dark caramel to amber in color, with a short lived inch of white head. the nose is boring, dusty old red malts and minerals. flavor is a little better, but this is not an inspired beer, despite being a local product on a fine food menu. it has almost no sweetness, which i like a lot, but the caramely malt doesnt make any sense without it. watery body, not enough carbonation, and a really light feel. its kind of an easy beer, very relaxed and drinkable. not intended to blow anyone away or anything, but an approachable beer to pass the time between great ones.

Appearance: It has a nice clear copper/amber color to it. It has a nice thick off-white head that dies down moderately and leaves some lacing.
Smell: The aromas definitly give out hints of roasted and bready malts along with caramel, some fruitiness and some earthy hops.
Taste: Like the aromas, it has a some sweet roasted and bready malts with some caramel, nuts and slight earthy hops.
Mouthfeel: It has a medium carbonation with a slightly thin overall balance and feel.
Drinkability: It's a very smooth drinkable beer accompanied with decent flavors and aromas.

A - poured with one finger of off white head on a clear, amber body. The head settles quickly but leaves nice lace.
S - toasted malt and some dark bread. Just a hint of herbal hops.
T - dark, bready malt up front, some musty kind of sour hops in the middle. Finishes with toffee and dry toast as well as light bitterness.
M - medium-thick body, moderately low carbonation, and a slightly sweet finish.
D - bland and lightly malty, it is drinkable but just barely. There is much better beer than this to be found in quebec.

Pint draft at Casse - Crepe Breton in Vieux-Quebec.
A - nice red color, not much head, pretty flat, may be the keg.
S - hints of malt
T - malty, a little thin and watery, not quite what I was expecting, but not bad
M - thin, not much fizz
O - went well with the food. Nothing special, but would order it again.

341ml brown bottle with twist off cap. From a taster 12-pack. Poured in a pint glass.
Clear, red-amber in colour. Off white head is 1/8 inch on the pour and quickly recedes to a thin ring around the edge. Very few carbonation bubbles.
Aroma is pretty faint. Probably due to the lack of carbonation and head. Faint hints of malt and not much else.
Flavour is mostly malty with hints of pecans. Pretty consistent through and through. Plain but unoffensive.
Medium bodied with little pin pricks of carbonation. Even though you don't see many bubbles, they come to life in the mouth.
A very average red ale. Similar to a lot of the industrial red ales (i.e. Rickard's Red and Keith's Red). Not bad, but not great.
