Bottled version, sourced in Eugene, poured into shaker pint glass 7.30.2010.

Finger and a half white somewhat uneven head, medium dissipation with some lacing retention. A bit hazy deep gold, some carbonation present, second pour resulted in significant yeast floaties, obviously bottled conditioned. Tropical fruit nose, some caramel sweetness from malts. Taste mirrors nose, pretty hoppy, leading to a fairly bitter finish, well in balance. Mouthfeel is a bit sticky, medium fullness. Pretty drinkable, but I'll be more careful to leave yeast in bottle next time to taste the full character of this nice IPA.

22oz bottle from Roths Sunnyslope Market in S.Salem. $3.99 pours a slightly hazy burnt orange with a rough and tumble bubbly off white head. Very healthy hop aromas to this one, citricfruity an juicy hop i am assuming this is fresh! Taste is the same as the aroma but with a strong burnt toffee backing very good. Good palate does not let the beer get boring. Overall an excellent PNW IPA

pours a light copper orange/wheat color, thick dry head dies down to a persistent layer across the surface, moderate lacing throughout the glass. a tad bit of haze, but not much. hop forward smell, hints of malt, and drinks the way it smells. very clean, simple ipa. nothing terribly fancy going on here, but what's been done is done pretty well. ends with a sweet, dry finish. i'd like it just a bit more chewy, but it's by no means bad the way it is. not terribly memorable, but overall a solid B+, with points for not throwing any curve balls at me.

Saw this one at John's Market and decided to pick up on up. It poured a slightly hazy orange into the Pilsner glass. It has a 2 finger head that dropped off fairly quick. Left some nice lacing on the sides

The smell had alot of citrus and piney notes. It was a pretty sweet tasting IPA and had decent balance as you could not tell the 90 ibu's as it wasn't as aggressive as ibu typically would give at that range. Soft on the palate as it left a tiny mark on the roof of the mouth. Overall a solid IPA from down in the Eugene area.

Served from a can into a nonic pint glass

A- Poured a hazy bright golden color with a big fluffy white head with tight bubbles that leaves big clingy lace

S- Big piney hop aroma, lots of citrus, big astringency, and big sweet malts. Very aromatic

T- Huge sweet caramel malt flavor, some big floral hop character, citrus hop and kind of a sweet orange marmalade flavor as well, and finishes with lots of nondescript bitterness.

M- Pretty smooth mouthfeel, effervescent carbonation, dry finish

O- Great aroma on this beer, lots of nondescript bitterness, astringency, and malt character. This is good as it is, I wonder how fresh it is though.

A: cloudy deep gold pour with half inch head.

S: pine and apricot.

T: good but not overwhelming bitterness. Tastes of grapefruit. Malt is understated which is good. Does this beer have a little wheat in it?

M: very nice. If I could duplicate this at home, I would. Laces well down the glass. Carbonation is typical for an IPA.

O: a typical NW IPA. Except for color. They have to use carapils or wheat to keep the color and get this mouthfeel. First taste of Hop Valley. I like it.

I enjoyed this beer, thanks to ahalloin for bringing this one to share, thanks Tony.

The beer has a very nice sudsy IPA apperance with plenty of lacing, and some nice head. Semi hazy orange color.

The smell has a bright hoppy smell, a touch of tropical fruits and nice hop resins, maybe with a touch of sweetness. The taste is quite balanced, maybe over balanced to a hophead like me who really likes a hop edge, if you know what I mean. Lots of well integrated hop favors perfect with light biscuit malts and slight sugar. Some nice tempered citrus from the hops.

The feel is again sudsy with nice body. Great feel for an ipa, and the overall impression is great.

Pour - out of the can, Alphadelic fills the glass a soft golden color with a rich, thick white head floating on top. Super clingy foam sticks on the walls of the glass. This has the makings of a fine beer.

Aroma - loads of sweet citrus, cotton candy, bitter lemon, pineapple and passion fruit. No shortage of aromas to take in as this one settles. As it warms a tad those aromas increase and those aromatic hop driven smells really come out.

Taste - can't help but start with a big sip. This smells great and has been leading me on a bit. Lots of grapefruit taste right off the bat, something I will always love about some breweries take on this style. This has the citrus, the dankness, the bitterness and the floral and raw hop flavor that drives a great IPA - and yes it really does have enough malt to back it all up. Really enjoying this beer and wishing I had more of them...

Overall - when you call your brewery Hop Valley and your based in one of the most historic hop growing areas of the country than you know people are going to expect a LOT from your hop focused beers. Alphadelic IPA does not disappoint. This was a beer I really enjoyed and would love to get out to Springfield and have it on tap while learning more about the regions hop-growing history.
