Notes:
From the Brewery website: Fruehbock (pron. "Froo Bock") - Literally "Early" Bock, Frueh is also short for Fruehling which is the German word for Spring. Try our Spring Bock as the cold winter fades and the warm spring winds begin to blow. This deep golden, slightly malty bock beer comes in at 6% ABV, which you'll find hard to believe because it's so smooth and refreshing. Don't wait to try it...because like springtime in Charlotte, this seasonal will come and go quickly.
Note: Früh = Frueh

sampled on 4.8.11. reviewed from notes.
A - clear, rich yellow color with slow streaming bubbles from bottom. one-finger white head reduced to a thin but consistent cap. lacing is present down side of glass.
S - sweet malts, light fresh-cut grass, slight floral notes, green apple
T - some hops in front that give way to a golden, malty base. a slightly drying, lengthy finish.
M - thin-medium bodied. slightly prickly carbonation.
O - very solid. good looks, good aroma, very good taste. might have to mix this one into the rotation.

Exactly one month old today, bottled on 4/17/13.Poured into a half liter stein a clear light to medium golden with a great looking blooming white crown, almost specially made for the glassware used. The aromas are a little different than what Iam used to when it comes to a maibock,no big sweet doughy notes but a crispness with mild caramel notes underneath,it's malty but not alcoholic.Flavors of wet grain and some caramel sweetness, again the crispness is what stands out most to me.Not what Iam used to in a maibock...but it's well made and the crispness is a nice change of pace.A lighter maibock but it goes down easy.

On tap at Growlers Pour House in Charlotte. Pours clear golden with an above average white head that leaves some sticky lacing on the sides of the glass. Looks and tastes much like a regular, but well-crafted, lager, with some spicy hops: a description of a typical maibock. The hops are less obvious in the nose than on the tongue. Still, the taste is mainly bready. The aroma is quite light, reminiscent of white bread with light citrus/herbal notes.
M: Light body; medium carbonation.
O: True to style if a shade light on the hops; well-crafted, clean and refreshing.

Tap at the brewery.
Pours a light clear gold with a sugar white head.
Light bready malt flavor with a hint of grassiness.
Light bready and grassy malt with a hint of fruit sweetness.
Light body with a tingle of carbonation.
A very good lighter lager with great flavor, would definitely have this again.

A: Pours a clear golden yellow with two fingers of white head that fades into a frothy ring with a little lacing.
S: Clean biscuit and crystal malt aromas with light citrus and pine hoppy notes. There is also an underlying sweetness to the aroma, more reminiscent of Belgian beers.
T: Clean biscuit and sweet bread flavors here as well with a light piny bitterness from the hops. The finish is lightly bitter and clean.
M: Light body with medium carbonation, this beer is clean, dry, and drinkable.
O: A solid beer overall. Nice, clean flavors and aromas with a light hoppiness.

Served from tap into a Sierra Nevada shaker. Poured a golden pale yellow with a half finger white head that subsided to a minimal amount slowly. Maintained nice lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, fruit, subtle banana, and wheat. The flavor was of sweet malt, banana, fruit, wheat, and grain. It had a light feel on the palate with medium carbonation. Overall this was a pretty average brew. This one was quite refreshing and easy to drink but as far as the style goes it was in the middle of the road in my opinion. It did have a lot of nice things going for it, but it was close to all of the brews in this style and didn’t stand out at all unfortunately. I would suggest this one to non-craft drinkers or fans of the style without a doubt, but I would hesitate to recommend it to a hardcore enthusiast.

Had on tap at Mac's Speedshop. Pours a really nice golden color with a solid two fingers worth of head. The nose is clean and lightly floral with hints of apricot. Mouthfeel is light with a nice effervescent carbonation. Taste is bright and clean and finishes slightly sweet. Overall a really refreshing spring seasonal from a great local brewery.

22 oz bottle split and poured into a New Belgium globe.
6.0% ABV, Bottled on 4-26-11
Thanks to Beerwolf77 for sharing this tasty treat with me!
A - Picture perfect, the faintly hazy golden yellow beer is topped by a relentless white head with great lace draped down the glass!
S - Crisp lager nose opens with refreshment abounding and smooth biscuity pils malts. Soft water and noble hops finish out the aroma.
T - Nice crisp pilsner malt has great balance with the noble hops. A bit of spice pulls through nicely and finishes with a mellow sweetness begging for another sip.
M - Crisp and clean, the smooth beer has a great feel with a faintly dry hop bitterness.
O - Awesome across the board, Früh Bock is perfect for spring and summer and would easily convert BMC drinkers to craft. A delicious gateway beer if I may...
