loads of coffee on the nose. Clean light brown color. Really nice lacing,some roasty notes on the nose as well. Flavor is upfront and maple syrup smoked complexity. Coffee starts with a creamy mid-palate that transfers to a pleasant grainyness and a hint of peanut shells. Sweet come finish. Overall by far the best nut brown I ever had.

A small, off white head on a clear copper colored body. Ok retention and light lace.

S nutty, sweet toffee and rich caramel.

T sweet malt up front with a slight vegetal flavor in the middle. Finishes with more sweet malt and a touch of spicy hops to balance.

M medium body moderate carbonation and a sweet finish.

D a great aroma with a slightly disappointing flavor and a grassy character that is a little off putting.

Half finger head with nice lacing on a clear copper body. Aroma just as advertised, caramel malts, toffee and nuts. Flavor follows this as well with toffee prevalent providing excellent sweetness. Medium body and moderate carbonation and nice creamy body. Overall a very flavorful beer which each flavor noticed and no clashing.

poured into a 23-ounce pilsner glass at DuClaws at BWI airport. Also had previously in growlers.

A: nice coffee brown color with two-finger foamy head that lasts a long time. Lacing lasts a long time also.

S: heavy sweet maple and toffee tones

T: smooth strong toffee, malt and roasted coffee flavors. No bitterness at all.

M: heavy, thick, sweet, very little carbonation - good mouthfeel

O: an outstanding beer that I strongly recommend. Go out of my way to grab one at BWI whenever I have time.

A: Amber to brown in color. White 1 finger khaki head.

S: Caramel, toffee, cream, coffee and slight maple syrup.

T: Easy drinker. I could slam the hell out of this beer. But this isn't about ease of drinking. This beer lacks big flavors which would make it harder to slam. Caramel, toffee and sweetness.

M: Sweet and dry. Finish is a bit odd however.

O: I'm ok with it. It was a huge hit with my gf.

On tap -> Pint glass at Blue Grass Tavern in Baltimore, MD. My wife and I met some friends for Sunday brunch. I wasn't expecting this place to have anything decent as far as beer. To my surprise, the first this I see at the bar is two tap handles, this and Dale's Pale Ale. I've had Dale's a lot, but I'd never had this one. Plus, it's good to support local breweries!

A - Cloudy dark brownish red, white foamy head, webbed sticky lacing, little carb streams

S - Mildly sweet, toasted English muffin

T - Whoppers! This tastes just like malted milk balls. I happen to enjoy that candy, so this was very pleasing. Very malty and sticky sweet from the first taste through the middle. Some mild light roast coffee notes. This one finishes with some clean mildly bitter notes. As it opens up some mild spiced notes arrive, almost like toasted mild gingerbread.

M - Medium bodied. Not much else to it.

O - Easy to drink, but not quite session-able. I had two in this sitting, and enjoyed the first one far more than the second. Very sweet and great to pair with traditional American breakfast foods like eggs, ham, grits and other savory and salty items. I imagine that this would be a good dessert beer. I'd order this one again if I saw it.

A--Dark brown/caramel with a small light tan head. Some lacing remains.

S--Toffee!! The smell is again the best thing about this DuClaws beer. As I said to my buddy Dave, "I could sit here and sniff this one all day!"

T--Again, the let down. Similar toffee but not as prevelent as in the nose. Coffee tastes are also present, overall better than average but not as good as the aroma.

M--Smooth, with little carbonation. Overall a bit thin in the mouth.

D--Nice flavor but light mouthfeel, not too sweet but not a flavorful as I would have liked.

Presented with absolutely no head. An appealing mahogany color. Toffee and butterscotch aroma, not much in the way of hops in the nose. Toffee and nutty flavors begin, leading to some sweetness that is just balanced enough by hops to keep it from being cloying. A bit thin, with a low amount of carbonation. I expected a bit more from this, particularly with the nice aroma. A bit of a disappointment.

Appearance: dark brown/caramel in the glass, small head, decent retention, some lacing. looks like cola in the glass.

Smell: malt, and toffee are the dominant aromas.

Taste: again, much of the same, toffee being the standout. butterscotch and coffee are also present, and the whole effect is somewhat reminiscent of cola, especially in the finish. Bitterness is mild, no hint of alcohol

Mouthfeel: very smooth, but seems more carbonated than it needs to be. the carbonation reinforced the impression of cola I got when I was drinking this, and that's not what I wanted to taste.

Drinkability: enjoyable flavor but light mouthfeel, without being sweet, made this a pretty drinkable brew.

Rich. Very rich. And oh so smooth. Looked great in the glass, dark amber (almost black) but with golden highlights. Small head that lasted awhile. The toffee scent hits you as you raise the glass, begging you to taste it. The flavor is coffee, carmel, and sweet. Fantastic flavor, but I couldn't drink it on a regular basis. Excellent after-dinner drink.

This is a tumbler-glass serving of DuClaw's newest release, Euphoria, a toffee nut brown ale. It was served on Pint Club member's preview night.

Appearance: The ale has a nice deep brown color and a smallish ring of head that doesn't last too long.

Smell: Rich toffee and butterscotch malt aromas emerge from the beer.

Taste: The ale has some incredible flavors. There are toffee, butterscotch, chocolate. All of which layer together to make a very nice taste. I tried to place the taste and finally realized that it's flavors resemble Young's Double Chocolate Stout.

Mouthfeel: The nuttiness is quite tasty. I had two pints myself.

Drinkability: Good drinkability, although the flavors could get too intense. I brought home a growler, I liked it so much.

Poured from bottle into English pub glass.

Dark amber brown color with a fast defuzing head.

Smell is largely of roasted malt

Taste has a small sweet roasted malt flavor with a large taste of bitter hops.

Feeling is unique, on the lower side of carbonation, which allows the alpha acids of the hops to create a citrus like tingle.

Overall This beer is easy drinking brown ale, but there is not to much the make it stand out about this brew.

a brownish red in color with a finger of head which quickly dissipated leaving no lacing behind. smells of peanut butter, chocolate, toffee. tastes of toffee, chocolate, that fake powder peanut butter stuff. it's actually quite tasty. a little on the light side with high carbonation which fizzes in your mouth.

not a bad beer but just a bit underwhelming. very tasty, and sweet with a dry finish. this seems like it wouldn't be a bad beer to pick up as a 6pk. like it gets better as the session continues.

I poured this beer into a pint glass, it has a reddish brown colored body with a small head that hangs for a while then lays down to a thin lace on top. The smell has a roastey,nutty smell to it. The taste has a rich nutty flavor with some chocolate to it. It has some sweetness to it and detect the toffee in it. The mouthfeel is really good and overall a really good brown ale.

Poured into a pint glass.

A: Slightly hazy red-brown with a giant uncalled-for white, fizzy, head that lasted a long time. Not much lacing.

S: Roasted aromas and some nuttiness. Kind of funky.

T: Moderate sweetness and light bitterness. Nice and nutty and I detect the toffee too.

M: Medium bodied with lively carbonation. Somewhat smooth but hard to tell with the overly-lively carbonation.

O: This beer tasted good, but the ridiculous head and nose kind of put me off. Average overall.

12 oz bottle poured into tulip

Pours a deep chestnut caramel color with a lovely ruby glow. Crop of beige head rests on top, fading into a cloud of film. Large spots of lacing on the glass.

Chocolatey and nutty in the nose with some almonds and bread crust. Toasty and lightly sweet.

Cocoa powder and light milk chocolate up front. Nutty with almonds and toffee with a dash of caramel and vanilla. Mild malt backbone with bread crust, toasted nuts and chocolate. Finishes lightly sweet and thin.

Lighter medium body, decent carbonation, a little thin and chewy on the tongue. A pretty solid brown ale - I enjoyed the cocoa and vanilla flavors that seem to shine through the thinner backbone.

A- pours a partially transparent shade of amber with a three finger offwhite head. Looks a little light for a brown ale, but regardless, it's a handsome looking beer

S- great nutty aroma with some lingering roast. Definitely getting a nice bit of toffee as well

T- a bit of sweetness and maltiness that turns turns a bit to bitterness....not spectacular

M- body is extremely thin

O- not bad, but very easy drinking...tastes a lot different from the bottle than on tap IMO

A - Looks fairly light for a brown ale, brown with a ruby red hue and a 1/2 inch of opaque colored head that quickly reduces me to a mild lace ring.

S - Smells a tad more bittering from either the hops or some vegital quality. Smells little of nut or toffee just some brown malts.

T - Not bad it's fairly balanced with the hops even though it seems more hop forward than malt. Fairly weird since I like my brown ales more malt forward. Maybe if anything I am getting a mild vanilla sweetness next to brown malts but where is the nut or toffee?

M - Light in fact too lite for the style. It comes off fizzy and almost light beer like.

Overall this is not impressing me for the first offering from this brewery. A shame since I got singles of every beer the House of 1,000 offered...

Cask offering at Als of Hampden via the handpump. This cask featured Euphoria aged over caramelized apples. Served in a nonic, the brew appears a clear amber with a fine sudsy top of tan bubbles that is composed of a large bead. The ap maintains a thin layering and a light swirl revives the cap somewhat.

The smell is as advertised; caramel candy apples leads the way with a hint of something along the lines of cinnamon and vanilla. Some accenting fruit character is a bit tangy smelling when coupled with the alcohol esters.

The taste has a mild vanilla sweetness with caramelized apples. Very tangy fruit undertone with almost a roobeer like quality in the aftertaste. Unfortunately the flavors are clashing here and really dont work well together. The apple starts to feel almost like it was added to cover up a flaw instead of added to increase complexity.

This is a medium bodied brew with a light level of carbonation. Very easy going down but not something i found to be terribly enjoyable either. The nose was the best aspect of this with the flavor just not working out too well.

Smells very heavy, a malt scent with strong coffee, burnt nut flavor. It is a very cherry wood like color.

The head is pretty light with almost no lacing.

At first it has nutty, almost hazelnut flavor, that is complimented by a sweetness and then goes into light-roast coffee flavor. As it sits the burnt nuttiness takes over, and mellows out. Almost no spiciness, it is a dry, nutty beer. Probably suitable to pair with a meaty dinner with some salty potatoes or such.

It is pretty light, not too heavy, though not sweet and has a load of dry, roasted nuttiness.

L: Crystal clear, amber brown, some head that dissipates quickly.

T: Strong milk chocolate and toffee notes. Medium low bitterness leading to a sweet candy lik toffee flavor with a touch of roast. Finishes fairly clean with a touch of nuttiness.

M: Medium light body, medium carbonation, a little bite to it.

Meh, flavors taste a little artificial. Not bad overall, i guess i prefer more nuanced flavors.

A - Two fingers worth rich airy light khaki colored head that start perfectly level before turning a bit rocky... Solid retention ultimately yields to a rich creamy head... The color is a light to medium brown with a slight reddish hue... Loaded with small bubbled sluggish to moderate paced carbonation... A very inviting English Brown Ale...

S - Lightly roasted malts... Fuggle hops... A bit nutty... A slightly burnt / charred aroma... Some slight sweetness in the form of caramel and toffee... Solid text book aroma for the style...

T - Barley... Nutty... Caramel... Toffee... Not overly sophisticated...

M - On the lighter side of medium bodied... Perhaps a bit thin... A slightly chalky texture... Solid carbonation... A bit creamy...

D - A very solid respectable English Brown Ale... Lots of flavor and character for 4.8% ABV... I could enjoy a couple of these in a sitting even if it is a slightly above average English Brown Ale...

Enjoyed this 12oz bottle out of a large snifter glass.

A: Pours a clear amber-brown hue with a 2-finger white head that slowly dissipates leaving a nice trail down the glass.

S: Malty aroma with a sweet toffee background.

T: Very smooth flavor that is more sweet than bitter – with a great toffee and roasted malt backbone.

M: Medium body and medium carbonation.

O: This is an excellent toffee nut brown ale. Very smooth flavor and aftertaste.

Got this in the Rep your region IF. Pours with short head with no lacing and only a bit of retention. Aroma is nutty, toasty, biscuit, with some coffee. Flavor has a bit more roast and coffee with.a nice mild caramel sweetness. Really enjoyable. Coffee is a really nice complement to a bit of a mild nuanced nutty brown ale. Mouthfeel is nice and smooth. Fine carbonation. Happy the Growler held up so well.
