The India Boundry Ale was my favorite offer from Limestone last evening. The IBA was a clear deep almost brown amber with white head that laced. The smell included nice roastyness that was quite enjoyable. The taste was even better. Mucho goings on with this beer. A hoppy start followed by a roasty finish. The mouthfeel was very good and the flavor with teh medium ABV made this a session beer worth trying. Overall a very good beer.

Fresh growler picked up today. Poured into a Le Cheval Blanc pint glass.

Pours a hazy deep brown with ruby red highlights around the edges. Big, creamy tan head that drops after a few minutes, leaving lots of lacing.

Aroma of big, chewy caramel malt, hints of dark roasted grains and coffee. Big juicy citrus and piney resinous hops. Minty and floral hints as well.

Flavors are like the aroma. But the Pacific Northwest hops take the lead role. Bursting with pine, grapefruit zest, a light roastiness from the grains, dark roasted coffee, cocoa powder, light caramel, and mint. Finish is medium, with the hop bitterness hanging on for the ride and inviting another sip.

Mouthfeel is medium with resiny hop bitterness coating your mouth. A dustiness from the dark roasted grains leave a dryness behind.

Outstanding session beer. Very drinkable, although it's bursting with hop bitterness and a dry roasty graininess, there is nothing here to create palate fatigue. Leaves you wanting more. Another outstanding beer in Limestone's lineup.

Tried the Limestone IBA on tap in a shaker pint glass.

Looks like any other brown ale, a dark amber color.

Primary aroma in this brew was the hops. This was expected as it was advertised as a hoppy brown ale. There was a slight aroma of roasted barley as well.

Tasted very similar to the smell. Hoppy like a pale ale, and slightly roasted like a brown ale. Had a very dry finish from the roasted grains.

This beer seemed kind of thin when I first started drinking it, but I think part of that can be attributed to drinking the fuller bodied Ukrainium Krusher right before this.

Pretty drinkable, had no problem polishing this one off in around 10/15 minutes.

Served in a shaker pint glass at the brewpub.

My Limestone experience continues with my second India Brown Ale. It pours a clear sunset amber topped by a finger of white micro-foam. The nose comprises caramel, light cocoa, light walnut, and cinnamon. The taste holds notes of light pine, grapefruit peel, flowers, light toffee, and a light bit of roasted malts in the background. The body is a light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a drying finish. Overall, a very nice IBA, with a great balance between hoppiness and brown-ness.

Pours a hazy, dark brown color. 1/4 inch head of an off-white color. Great retention and great lacing. Smells of hops, sweet malt, and hint of citrus. Fits the style of an American Brown Ale. Mouth feel is smooth and clean with an average carbonation level. There is also a noticeable bitterness. Tastes of strong hops, sweet malt, slight earthy malt, and hint of dark citrus.
