A - Hazy, dark burnt orange to brown color with a small off white head that dissipates fairly quickly. Plenty of little floaters. Leaves a bit of lacing down the glass.
S - Raisins, plums, toasted malts and a bit of a barnyard hop aroma. Smells very sweet, and not super complex, but definitely intriguing.
T - Following the nose, a very tasty, fruity blend of raisins, plums, and sweet malt. Also a slight hop bitterness, without much in the way of hop aroma or taste other than a little of that earthy, barnyard smell I was picking up. Also a little toastiness and a touch of yeast. Very well balanced in the way it's presented - simple, yet complex.
M - Fairly heavy, yet crisp. Moderate carbonation. A satisfying snack.
O - My first proper German Alt, and I was blown away. Touched on some of the same things I love about Scotch Ales. I'm sure there are plenty other great ones out there, but there aren't a whole lot available from what I could see, and the couple American versions I've had were much more like standard American Amber Ales. I'll definitely be seeking out more like this and would get this one again in a heartbeat.

I feel like this is a German beer lover's beer.
A nice chestnut color with lace on the side of the glass that's going nowhere.
The nose is sweet hazelnut up front and lingering leather.
As far as taste goes, its got a nice hop spike that isn't altogether indicative of other German darker brews I'm familiar with. Just the right amount of roasted malts commingle with earthy tobacco notes.
Delicious & worth the price tag.

Amber copper color. Poured four fingers of thick off-white head with long retention and leaving marks.
Nice aroma of piney and floral hops, slightly toasted malts and notes of cinnamon and caramel.
Very tasteful beer, mild toasted malt, spices and caramel. Delicious bitterness with grassy and earthy hops. Dry and bitter aftertaste.
Light to medium body and low carbonation, 6% ABV is well hidden.
Great beer, I just found grace in Altbiers just after dinking the Uerige. Flavorful, hoppy with good drinkability.

A- Hazy light brown in colour. Head is off-white/very light brown, quite fluffy. Shows nice retention and lacing
S- Caramel malts, along with bready notes and maybe a slight roasted touch. On the back, a faint sour hint is backed up by fruity notes of raisin and maybe apple. Some kind of bitterness which i couldn't actually define is present, maybe i would call it just plain bitterness, with no specific notes to it; it's definitely present but not at all intrusive
T- Pretty much what the smell suggested. A very soft feel overall, malty notes of caramel with a touch of grainy/bready feel. A gentle touch of bitterness is easily noticed on both tongue and aftertaste, bringing a floral/grassy note. In the middle, a lot of other notes can be noticed here and rhere, bringing very nice complexity: a slightly sour feel, apple, some kind of a white-wine feel, maybe even chocolate
M- As mentioned, very soft mouthfell, though some crispness is still showing through, bringing just the right amount of life. A very gentle, delicate mouthfeel, just like the beer
O- Altbiers are a classic. Beers that you drink with ease, like all germans, but in that case with their own flavours and peculiarities. This one is the perfect representation of the style. Great drinkabilty, complexity and balance
