Single, swing-top bottle purchased from Buy Rite on Oak Tree in South Plainfield...
Pours a crimson, ruby-red, mahogany-colored hue with an enormous frothy and foamy head that left a copious amount of lacing around the glass...
Sweet, bread and butter aroma with caramel cream nuances...
Bread and butter was about the best way you could describe the taste... a nice balance of malts and hops, loaded with toffee, nuts, caramel, and a hint of vanilla...
Creamy, rich, thick mouthfeel and a good level of drinkability with a nice 6% ABV...
Good stuff, and a classic rendition of the style...

Bottle poured into a tulip
Bottled on 01.11, code 01.12, whatever that means.
A- Pours hazy dark amber. A bubbly one finger of a tan head.
S- A big grain on the nose, A bit of Munich and pilsner malt. A slight caramel and yeasty esters. A sour fruityness.
T- A bit of caramel at first. A frothy, foamy caramel flavor. A breddy, yeasty flavor as well. A bit of dark fruit to this beer, A fig and dry raisin. A bit of this beer actually reminds me of wine, a dry quality and an alcohol feel on the tongue. A slight lemon grass note, herbal oniony grass notes as well. A strange and complex beer.
M- Thick on feel for the ABV, higher in carbonation. A slightly strange alcohol feel in the aftertaste.
O- A very weird beer. Certainly different from what you expect from an altbier.

I feel like this is a German beer lover's beer.
A nice chestnut color with lace on the side of the glass that's going nowhere.
The nose is sweet hazelnut up front and lingering leather.
As far as taste goes, its got a nice hop spike that isn't altogether indicative of other German darker brews I'm familiar with. Just the right amount of roasted malts commingle with earthy tobacco notes.
Delicious & worth the price tag.

Amber copper color. Poured four fingers of thick off-white head with long retention and leaving marks.
Nice aroma of piney and floral hops, slightly toasted malts and notes of cinnamon and caramel.
Very tasteful beer, mild toasted malt, spices and caramel. Delicious bitterness with grassy and earthy hops. Dry and bitter aftertaste.
Light to medium body and low carbonation, 6% ABV is well hidden.
Great beer, I just found grace in Altbiers just after dinking the Uerige. Flavorful, hoppy with good drinkability.
