Poured chilled into a pint glass, it pours a typical amber color with some slight haze along with a 1 finger thick bone white hea forming on top that dissipates to a thin surface layer while leaving SOME LACING on the glass.
Thinking I'm getting a bit of a cold, it's tough to get very much on the nose out of this one. However, from what I gather I can smell a bit of pine (cascade hops) along with a hint of grapefruit and maybe some orange peel. Somewhat weak, but it may have to do with my sinuses having "issues".
Sipping reveals a rather bitter hops flavor, while the pine on my nose is not really there on the sip. A slight grapefruity flavor or lemon rind flavor comes through as well. The swallow gives a somewhat "old english ale" flavor which is nice.
The body is nice in terms of drinkability. Very easy drinker, and the near-7% is hidden well, but nothing real flashy here. Would make an excellent session beer.

Poured beer out of the growler into a pint glass.
Appearance: This beer poured a one finger head that reduced to a thin layer. It is a copper color with great clarity and bubbles coming up through the glass. Nice lacing on the glass as the beer was drank.
Smell: Nice citrus hops followed by caramel and bready malts.
Taste: Grapefruit and orange flavors balanced by the caramel and bready malts. Very tasty.
Mouthfeel: Very smooth, drinkable, medium bodied, medium carbonation, and easy to drink.
Overall: A nice IPA that I look forward to drinking more of from the brewery. Such a drinkable and enjoyable IPA.

Poured from a 22 oz bottle into a nonic tumbler. Pours a pretty clear golden copper color with 2.5 fingers of creamy white head, good retention and nice lacing. Fine looking brew.
Smells pretty citric hoppy. Lemon in particular. A bit of pale malt. Nice but not exciting.
Tastes good- very drinkable. Malts are pretty evenly balanced with the hops (for an IPA). Pale malt sweetness washes over the palate first, followed by a round hop-tang. Get more lemon towards the end and finishes relatively dry.
Mouthfeel is very nice- medium light body with light to moderate carbonation. Goes down pretty easy and very refreshing. Not bad for 4.49. Not the best IPA but good enough to drink for sure.

220z bottle, $4.95 from Andover Liquors.
*GUSHER ALERT*
Upon removal of the cap the beer lept out of the bottle revealing a giant puddle on the countertop, and a full pint of pure foam in the glass. About a half bottle loss.
After the settling, the beer is murky in the glass with a dense skim coat and strings of yeasty chunks on the walls of the glass.
Aromatics are disapointingly meek, with barely a trace of piney hops with grainy malt following through.
Medium bodied with a prickly, tacky mouthfeel.
Sweet malt with a lactic twang and hints of pine and grapefruit starts the palate. Grainy, husky malt follows through with a light bitterness.
Finishes with sweet malt, wet paper, and light tartness.
Infected beer and I'd like my money back please. Beyond that the base beer is subdued and stale.
I'll be done with Blue Hills.

A: Yellow, golden/amber. Finger thick eggshell white head with nice lacing.
S: Fresh hops, bananas, yeast, citrus. Smooth, rich malts off the nose as well. Hints of grapefruits & wheat bread.
T/M: Sugared fruits and fresh hops with a rich bitterness on the first sip. Grapefruits, bananas, honey and flat yeast. Simple, smooth, medium sized classic I.P.A. body. Moderately carbonated.
D: Pretty average. Refreshing.

Pours somewhat hazy medium orange with cream colored thick head that doesn't last. Not a speck of lacing. WTF.
A nice blend of spicy resinous hops and malt. The malt has a slight sour twang, but it works.
Good hops up front. Piney flavors combined with toasted malt. Not really a sweet beer. I find toasted bread, no caramel. The hops dissipate to bitter malt in the finish. It works, but will not b a favorite of hop bomb lovers.
Medium body. I want a little more carbonation; a little more zip.
Not bad. A decent flavor and a mediocre structure. A good beer overall.

Poured only a 1/2" off-white head but it did last quite a while. Hazy apricot color bordering on copper. Smells of tart fruit. Taste is only mild to moderately hoppy but it has a decent richness and a malty aftertaste. So I find this to be a quality beer but not among the IPA elites.
