Clear filtered golden body. Nice large white lacy head.
Beautiful hop aroma. Resiny floral piny hops coupled with some grapefruit citrus notes. Just a faint hint of sweet biscuity malt.
Bitter sweet hops hit the palate. Grapefruit to that oily resiny fresh hop flavor. Theres a subtle balancing sweet malty backbone, but just enough to roll the flavor into a bitter dry finish.
Light crisp refreshing beer. I am very impressed with new belgium on this guy. Who new they had a phenomenial ipa in them. The lips of faith series has really skewed my opinion of new belgium for the better.

Poured from a bomber, this hippity-hoppy beer is another entry in New Belgium’s “Lips of Faith” Series: it begins with a massive cloud of sticky froth that slinks down to leave the glass lacquered with splotch lacing. The appearance is translucent amber with a scarcity of carbonation bubbles.
The nose is intense. There is an explosion of orange, lemon and butter – a veritable hop bomb going off in the nostrils. The palate receives a drubbing of pepper and grass that leaves off in a subtle dryness at the finish. What we have are 70 IBUs going to town, tipping trash cans and smashing store windows while the cascade and centennial hops watch for the cops. Surprisingly, I found the body to be rather light (given the above antics) and strangely crisp.

From 22 oz bomber to pint glass
A surprisingly fresh and crisp, almost West Coast-style IPA from New Belgium. Sharp pine and citrus notes are evident upon popping the cap, as the beer forms a frothy 2-inch head on a gentle pour. Light golden-tan and crystal clear, the beer looks clean and crisp.
The brew has a bouquet that includes honey-malts and hints of lemon-pepper that blend well with the citrus and pine notes. The flavors follow, with the bitter aspects of the hops up front. Alcohol is present, but not overwhelming, and as a strong malt-backbone keeps the brew from getting too bitter or dry. Medium finish with a slight bitter-tea edge around the palate.
This is one of the better IPA's put out by NB...my only reservation is that this seems a little strange to be clumped with the limited-edition Lips of Faith series. I would love to see this in larger production (especially cans for grilling and tailgating).

I had purchased this bottle during my last trip to D.C. to visit my aunt and uncle and it has been sitting in my reefer, patiently awaiting my attention. Here we go on New Year's Eve!
From the bottle: "Fresh pickings for some lip lickings. This beauty of an ale boasts a fresh crop of Cascade, Centennial, and Amarillo hops. We're talking from vine to brew within 24 hours fresh, citrusy, soft fruit tones."
My initial pour netted two pillowy, rocky fingers of tawny head that I had to allow to settle before I could proceed. The lacing that remained in its wake was fantastic! Color was a slightly hazy golden-yellow. Nose had pine, grapefruit and caramel, all intermingling in a very pleasant way. Mouthfeel was rather soft where I had braced myself for abrasive hops. Speaking of hops, that was the prevalent flavor on the tongue. It was very grapefruit-citrusy initially, but it also had a cool wintergreen/evergreen mintiness. Finish was semi-dry with the hops still living large but giving the caramel malt a chance to join the party. I won't tell you what I paid, but the value was insane! Man, I could drink some more of this.

A: Pours a clear amber with a big white head, awesome amount of bubbles and lacing with pretty solid head retention
S: A nice nose consisting of fresh citrus, pione needles and a flower bouquet. Smells very nice and fresh
T: Smooth a nice bitterness to it, piney, earthy, toasted malt and biscuity note underneath.
The finish has a light bit of slickness to it with a citrus meets pine finish
M: Light to medium bodied, well carbonated. Makes the mouth/palate happy
O: Bang for your buck here! Good fresh hop IPA.

Poured into a pint glass
A: Aggressive pour yields 1 finger of thick, just off-white head with good retention. Crystal clear amber/orange liquid is beautiful.
S: Grapefruit, tropical fruit, some clean malty caramel underneath some earthy herbality. No off aromas, near perfect.
T: Quite bitter! Dominantly so in a grapefruit manner. Finish is all alcohol with a bit of soap though :-/ Middle is a bit sweet. Decent but fairly one-dimensional.
M: Biter up front, a tad astringent. Fair.
O: Fair/not bad. I wouldn't buy again. I would have a second pint. Middle of the road fresh hop IPA.
