Notes:
Pleasantly hoppy, Snow Day carries the subtle chocolate and caramel flavors of a new brewing malt known as Midnight Wheat. The Styrian Golding, Centennial and Cascade hops bring the backbone of hoppy bitterness to complement the roasty undertones. This beer is the deep garnet of a roasted walnut and presents a creamy tan head, floating artfully atop. Snow Day is bold and hoppy, drinkable and strong.

12oz bottle poured into a pint glass. I have had this beer a few times and really enjoyed it, but never gave it a review. Pours a ruby-tinted dark brownish black with good clarity. Small sheet of lace atop. The nose is full of fruity aromatics and freshly-ground up hops. Zing! That'll do. Fresh, potent, if not sinus-clearing.

Good clean feel with ample carbonation. Easy to sip, easier to gulp. The hoppy quality carries over to the flavor, but it doesn't take over as a nice dry graham cracker sweetness forces its way through. Bitterness isn't cutting at all, as the singe left on the palate, fleets away quickly, ready to be bombarded again.

A good beer. I wasn't even sure of what this style was, but that's okay. I approached this one with no misconceptions or prejudices. I'd gladly have this again.

Appearance: Black. Nice lace.
Smell: Immediately hoppy with grapefruit and pine, then roasted coffee and chocolate.
Taste: A hoppy, roasted blend.

The hoppy smell explodes onto the scene, and then is followed by a roasted character of coffee and chocolate; in the very least a roasted something. The hops are bright and add that great citrus and bitterness to the mix. I really like this style. I would get this again.
