Cool 12 oz bottle poured in UK pint glass. Beer is a yellowish amber with a fat yellow-white head. Big cascade (centennial?) hops aroma. Underneath the array of hops is the combination dry and sweet flavor typical of fermenting with sugar, reminiscent of Belgian golden ales. Totally serves the style well with a well balanced load of hops. Tons of lacing on the glass.
After having to resort to drinking Fat Tire at a wedding I am pleasantly surprised with this choice from New Belgium, CO.

From notes, 4/29/11. Draft, City Beer Store. A very nice Belgian IPA. I rather like the Lips of Faith series. They mostly would make for excellent introductions to their various styles, since they’re friendly, enjoyable versions that still pack good flavor and some complexity. This isn’t quite competing with the best of the sub-style, but it’s nearly there and very good in its own right. Good citrus/grass/floral hop notes blend with Belgian yeastiness and a touch of earth. Taste is a bit sweet but finishes dry with a gentle bitter bite. A very pleasant beer and another win for New Belgium’s fancy line.

A-pours a golden with a thick white head that dissipates somewhat quickly but leaves some great lacing the entire length of the glass.
S-floral, Belgian yeast, hoppy
T-tastes much like the nose with floral and citrus notes, Belgian yeast, a somewhat chalky aftertaste. It is light and refreshing but finishes very dry.
M-Somewhat thin with a good amount of carbonation
D-One could definitely drink a few of these in a session if they desired, but for me the dry finish cuts into the drinkability.
Overall, I'm not a huge fan of Belgian IPAs, however this one seemed middle of the road. I've had better offerings from New Belgium.

Poured from brown bomber bottle to pint glass.
A - The beer pours with a solid 2 finger fluffy white head with decent retention and lacing. Clear copper/orange color.
S - Typical IPA aroma: hops and little malt character.
T - Unlike the nose, the hop character is actually quite subdued which I didn't expect. Not much hop flavor at all. The middle of the beer brings out a malty sweetness and Belgian yeast flavors along with some honey and biscuit flavors. The alcohol presents itself towards the end. The beer seems a little off balance even for an IPA.
M - The beer is actually rather thin and perhaps a little undercarbed?
D - Somewhat.
Overall, this is a decent beer but certainly not outstanding at all.
Note: This review was a re-post from my former account, jmkratt, which was hacked and I lost all my reviews...sorry for the redundancy.

App- Pours an orangeish-gold color with a thick fluffy head. Excellent lacing through the glass.
Smell- Citrus hops comes to the nose first, with the spicy aroma of Belgian yeast also weighing in heavily.
Taste- Bananna and clove from the yeast fight it out with citrusy hops. A bit of staleness to the beer, but then again I am drinking it quite a while after I bought it. Also a dominant bubblegum taste in there as well after the shock of the hops dies down.
Mouthfeel- Crisp, but moderately thick. Not at all syrupy.
I found it to be a pleasant beer, very good looking in the glass, an interesting combination of flavor, even if they were not blended or mixed the best. I would have no problem purchasing this again.

On-tap at Skosh Monahan's, on to the beer:
Goldenrod colored beer with long lasting suds sitting on top, leaving lots of lace around the glass. It's got a pleasant aroma, one consisting of lemon peel, some "funk", and some sourdough character.
It's got the depth of a good Belgian IPA, yet it is quite easy to approach. Mellow grapefruit and citrus peel are obvious upfront, moderate dry funk, leather, and a pinch of pepper round it out. Complimenting the rather easy character of this beer is the medium mouthfeel and gentle crispness.
While it may not be as much "fun" as other beers in the Lips of Faith series, Belgo comes out as one of the more approachable, and in the end remains a quality beer.
