On tap at the gnome.
Pours a half finger of beige head. Good retention and good lace. Color is a dark brown.
Aroma: Muddled down la folie. Definitely not as sour, but there are some sour cherries. A lot of malts. Some caramel. Some oak. Brown sugar and spice.
Taste: A pleasant sour. Some cherries and oak. A little vinegar. A lot of dark fruits. Plums and raisins. Ends with more oak.
Mouthfeel: It has a really bland and band aid feel/taste to it. Light to medium bodied with a medium amount of carbonation. Ends dry.
Overall, not bad, but not as good as la folie. It was fine. Odd mouthfeel. Okay sour (?).

On cask at the Draught House 42nd Anniversary Party. I was really looking forward to this beer, but it was a big let down.
The beer pours a dark brown color with a tan head. The aroma is roasted malt with a little bit of tartness. The flavor is more of the same, with some brown sugar and roasted malt notes. I get a little bit of tartness, but it is nothing compared to the tartness that you get from La Folie. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Not sure what the brewers were going for, but this beer doesn't really do much for me.

On cask at Beachwood BBQ, a blend of La Folie and 1554,
A: Pours a deep amber with a frothy white head, leaves some good lace.
S: Lots of milk chocolate, hint of vinegar.
T: To me, tastes like a hypothetical chocolate covered red currant. Balanced mix of milk chocolate and red fruit, mild acid, an interesting combo.
M: Very soft carbonation, mild acid as explained before, smooth.
D: An interesting beer. Frankly I like La Folie by itself more, a beer worse than La Folie, but better than 1554.
