Peach and opaque. Retains a nice rim of head.
A very active aroma. Floral, oaky, herbal, but the sour is faint.
Faint sour in the taste as well. More hay and yeast. Like a saison with a sour accent. Bit of white wine and maybe some cherry deep down.
Nice complexity, but a little light.

Cellared between 53 and 66 degrees F for 2 years.
A - Transparent golden color with a nice lacey white head that faded consistently from a half inch in my mini-snifter.
S - It has a farmhouse aroma to is that is kind of a musty-sweet.
T - Rather mild flavor for an american wild. Certainly not sour but it seems as though it was heading in that direction.
M - Mildly coarse and slightly dry with much of the texture on the tip of my tongue. It is a nice feeling brew, without a doubt.
~ This isn't something I would necessarily seek out. However, this one aged in my cellar for two years. I would like another bottle to see how it would end up after 4 years in the cellar.

Draught at the Flying Saucer in Raleigh. Pours an extremely cloudy amber color with a smallish pillowy white head. They said it was near the end of the keg, so it may look a bit weird. Nose is subtle, but slightly malty. Taste is light and slightly sweet, but without a lot of substance to it. Meh.

Bomber from last summer, courtesy of my brother-in-law, poured into a Gandhi-Bot tulip. Thanks, Walker!
A: Clear deep amber body beneath two inches of fine tan froth. Good retention and lacing. Very nice example of the style.
S: Spicy, fruity, dry. Citrus, earthy brett, and pepper. Excellent.
T: Bubblegum and toast up front, with peppercorn, lemongrass, and dry minerality toward the back end. Sahara-dry finish. Terrific.
M: Hugely effervescent, light-bodied. Works great with the dryness.
O: I've never been a huge Biére de Garde fan, but this one really hit the nail on the head: enough malt to be substantial, enough spice to be interesting, and (more than) enough dryness to be refreshing. One of the driest beers I've had in a long time, but not in an astringent way at all. Really tasty stuff - surprised to see it isn't rated a bit higher. Maybe the Brett has done some positive developing over the last few months? I thought all the new Lips of Faith beers were pasteurized, though. Hmm.
Cheers!

Had this on 2013-05-10 in Columbia, PA
A - Fairly clear gold with a big 2-finger white head and moderate lacing.
S - Spice, some funk, hay, honey, floral. Nice complexity.
T - Tastes like it smells. Herbal spicy, lemon, mint, cracker, Brett funk, white pepper, finishes on the medicinal bitter side.
M - Thin body and light-medium carbonation.
O - Not world class but quite enjoyable.

"A celestial collision of orange-hued ale, citrusy lemon verbena, and unidentified flying brettanomyces, launch to NewBelgium.com/BDM". Brewed in the style of a Biere De Garde. No bottle date- old style cap (New Belgium Goblet cap), suggests that this is an older bottle.
Poured from a 22 oz. bottle to a New Belgium Globe Glass. Served north of 50º Fahrenheit.
(Appearance) Pours an off-white creamy head with a medium thick lacing but below average retention. Body color is a caramel orange amber hue, carbonation is spritely and plentiful. Not a bad appearance. 3.5
(Smell) Light biscuity malts, sour funk and fruit notes, boozy alcohol character, heavy spice and yeast profile with clove, banana and white pepper. The aroma goes long for collective intensity, there's certainly no holding back here, it's one of the most in-your-face Biere De Gardes I've smelled. 3.75
(Taste) Crackery pale malt character with fruity esters and a milder banana and clove character, but still striking. There's a musty, dry finish lacking in sweetness. It's a bit harsh and shallow on drinkability overall. 3.25
(Mouthfeel) Light cracker malt dryness and a mild creamy spritz of carbonation on the tongue. Medium alcohol presence. Body is medium/heavy for the style, medium overall. 3.5
(Overall) This was a pretty heavy-bodied Biere-De-Garde with a bold spice profile. Perhaps it doesn't cater to everybody's liking. 3.5
