Notes:
Fresh Bongwater Pale Ale is made with Montana grown barley and Canadian grown industrial hemp making it a smooth drinking light ale. The hemp seeds lend a slight nutty flavor to the beer but don’t worry; there is no measurable THC in this brew (a local Missoula lab actually sat around and tested this). Caramel malts are added to enhance head retention and contribute sweetness. Great for parties where mass appeal is desired.

A: Had on tap at Kettlehouse in Missoula. Poured a cloudy orangish/yellow color, good white head good lacing down the glass
S: Smells grainy, pretty good hop/citrusy smell also
T: Lots of malty flavor, also a good crisp hop flavor. Not too over the top
M: Just the right amount of carbonation
D: Well balanced pale ale, very tasty. Awesome beer.

11/08/04- Sampled at The Kettlehouse on tap.
*taken from notes in August 2004.
Appearance- Poured with next to no head and no lacing. A light amber pour.
Smell- Floral hops and malt take most of the smell. Maybe a bit of medicinal scent also.
Taste- Very weak tasting hops. Almost a stale tasting beer. Very very watery.
Mouthfeel- Because of the watery feel, it went down, well, like water. Lack of carbonation, almost a flat feeling.
Drinkability- It is a fairly drinkable beer. Just need some backbone to it. It was potential.

This hemp-brewed pale ale has a nice grassy aroma (no pun intended). The flavors are quite fruity with the characteristic buttery toast flavor imparted by the hemp seeds. I really enjoyed this creative beer
