I loved this place! The beer was very tasty and the atmosphere was excellent. It is housed in a very nice three story building next to the famous Chattanooga Choo Choo. They are very eco-friendly and use local products in several menu items which is a major plus. The stand out at the terminal is the beer. Only $4 apiece and they are all, without exception, excellent. But as another reviewer pointed out the best thing about the Terminal is they only serve their beer. No Bud Light, High Life, or any other riff-raff. That is very ballsy but it works for them and that is all that matters. Bottom line it is one of the best places to visit in Chattanooga.

My daughter plays travel softball and fortunately for me Chattanooga hosts several tournaments each summer and I get to go to Terminal Brewhouse. The building has a lot of history. It was a train terminal as well as a house of ill repute. The menue is one of the best in the downtown area. We enjoy the stuffed sandwiches that are huge and well worth the below $10 price. They have a good selection of the beer that they brew. My favorite is the Magnum P.A. I always get a growler or 2 to go while I am there.

My favorite little brewpub in Chattanooga. A multistory building, with each level being a kind of balcony looking down onto the shiny brass brew kettles, it has a lot of class without being snooty. Their selection of beers changes seasonally, but I haven't found a terrible one yet. They also offer growlers now too! Their food is not to the level of gastropub yet, but still a step or two above the normal sports bar fare. Prices are about what I would expect to pay in a college town, fairly reasonable, especially for the quality. Lots of history in this building, and well worth checking out.

Last week my husband and I took a 6-day road trip through the south and visited 27 breweries. Wednesday night was 4 stops in Atlanta and Thursday night was 4 stops in Nashville. On our way up from Point A to Point N we stopped in Chattanooga for lunch. Since Terminal had the highest ranking on BA, we gave it a shot and were not disappointed in the slightest. This place stands out in a town like Chattanooga, and would hold its own in a much bigger city with some real competition. (Sorry, Big River.) Considering how many breweries we visited and how many beers we sampled, this one definitely stood out.
The odd, triangular building was laid out into a good-looking and well-functioning space. Thursday lunch was a light crowd as this isn't really in the downtown office neighborhood. Thus the service was excellent. We happened to be telling the bartender about our beer voyage, and the guy down the bar who happened to be the brewer perked up and came over and told us all about the place.
Of the 8 beers on tap, he had free reign to play around with two of them, and he made some really great stuff. "Rock Out With Your Bock Out" and "Magnum P.A." would be two of the best beer names I've heard in a while, and they were both tasty. The menu had a similar sense of humor. I was debating several appealing options for lunch until a guy at a table nearby had a cheeseburger delivered. Suddenly I needed the cheeseburger, with bacon and mushrooms. I have a good number of bacon cheeseburgers in a given year, but this one didn't disappoint.
All-in-all, I would say that our experience here made me a little sad that I only get to Chattanooga about once every decade or so. For those of you that are closer, do yourselves a favor.

Another stop I got to make while in Chattanooga on business, I enjoyed this establishment and would make it a point go back there if I'm ever in town again.
Atmosphere: Standard brew pub/restaurant atmosphere, but the building itself was really cool and the establishment was at least 3 stories of used space, so that was neat. Big and open, it definitely had that refurbished factory feel that is nice for some reason when you're drinking a beer.
Quality: Quality was decent - the food was pretty much all local and they made sure you knew it on the menus. Beer was alright. I only had one (Belgian White) and it was solid, albeit a little thin (IMHO).
Service: Our waiter was a hipster and kind of a... well, you know... hipster. He was kind of rude and wasn't able to describe anything. The only reason he scored this high was because he was quick with the food when it was fairly busy, and I appreciate that.
Selection: Pretty wide ranging menu and about 8 different beers on tap as well as a full bar on the first floor. I wish I would have had more time to try more of their beers, but I was told that the IPA and Amber were very good as well.
Food: The food was good, but I would say that the portions were kind of small for a pub like this (however, they were probably more realistic as well since we're all kind of big boned in this country); the pizza looked great, and I wish I would have ordered it. Cole slaw and baked bean were excellent!
Value: Surprisingly reasonable -- not too bad of a bill when it was said and done -- I only spent $13 for dinner and the beer. I do wish I would have bought one of their sweet "Who is John Alt?" t-shirts, but alas, I didn't...

Overall, I was very impressed with Terminal. In my opinion the beers are sub-par. Not poorly made, just lacking significant character, however, the food, atmosphere and value make up for the beers.
Definitely an alternative feel. I liked the oldness and open-air quality of the place although the first floor can be extremely tight on a busy night. Wide selection of food from veggie, to upper-scale presentation of trad dishes. The black bean veggie burger was one of the best I've ever had. Pizza pie was very good too with very thin crust.
First Tuesday of every month is 'First Firkin Tuesdays.' 7 Februrary 2012 it was the Global Warmer.

One of the few local places that brew beer in Chattanooga. The atmosphere is pretty laid back and relaxed on most nights, but it can be pretty crowded sometimes. I enjoy it more when I can go to toss back a few pints when its not busy.
The service is normally pretty good, there fast in getting you your next beer and very polite whether your just there to drink, or there for dinner.
The selection of beer is there year round brews like the maibock, white shadow, and magnum pa, which are all pretty good, and they usually are rotating one seasonal in. On the first Tuesday night of the month they do a one time only tap, which is cool. However since its a smaller operation, they only have six taps.
The food is really good, and they have a wide variety of food options. The pizzas are particularly good, but they also have some great snacking appetizers to eat while you drink.
The prices are around 4$ a pint, and the food is not too expensive either. So overall, this is one of the best laid back places to eat/drink good beer in chattanooga.

My local favorite, long needed to review.
A - This was once a local terminal, so the name lives up. Lots of history and the pictures and shwag around the restaurant show its time. Three stories with a large brewery/basement - really love the outlay of this place.
Q - Everything here for the most part is top notch. Love the food, beer, staff, and establishment. They care about their product and you can recognize that.
S - 90% it's great. I go every now and then during the day and Deborah is always great to talk with and offers free tastings of the seasonals. Every now and then I'll get a bad egg, but that's expected with most establishments.
S - The beer has a daily offering of: Copper Ale, Whit, IPA, Stout, Bock, and a seasonal. Great selection all around. The food is also pretty damn good. I wish they had a bigger variety of dinner entrees but in regards to bar food it can't be beat. Some favorites are the hummus, nachos, and pizza bites for starters. For entrees I enjoy the 3 different beer infused steaks, homemade pizzas, bison burger, and a MUST try is the sweet potato fries. Also enjoy the sausage soup (forgot name).
F - Well damn I reviewed that above. Look ^^
V - Right on the money. You'll pay more are a nasty chain like Outback than you would at the Terminal. They are priced to compete and if it were any lower I would be a bit concerned.
A must visit if you're in the area. In fact, if you're in the area BM me and I'll buy you a pint! Cheers!

I stopped by this place while I was in Chattanooga and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and the beer was not bad either. They have five or six staple beers and a rotating seasonal. The prices were fair and the food was pretty good. I ordered a italian meat pizza and an IPA to pair it with and it was really good. I think the pizza was $15 and the pints were ~$4. The only thing I did not like was that I could not order a half pint of beer. I would definitely stop back the next time I am in Chattanooga and get the sampler.

Great brewpub! The beer and food is great! You can get a sampler of all of their beer or paired beer and cheese plates. They have food and beer pairings for everything on the menu, even the dessert. They give their used grains to a local bakery and they use them to make the bread that is served in the restaurant (sandwiches, etc.) They also use a local coffee company's beans to make their stout, one of their best. The first Tuesday of every month, they have "First Firkin Tuesday", a cask of specialty brew. Music in the biergarten on the roof and hops growing overhead.
