On tap at Falls Tap Room

A - amber with a thin lacing of white head

S - toasted malts, some caramel

T - caramel, toasted malts, faint citrus

M - medium bodied, smooth, crisp

This is a rather simple beer. It's incredibly drinkable and clean, but ultimately boring. The flavor is balanced but faint. There's nothing here to keep me interested. This is a one and done for me.

@ Busy Bee

Deep, clear amber color under a little frothy head. Reserved toasty cereal malt, leather, tea, and sweet bread aromas. Lots of flavor from a beer that hits the low end of ABV for the style. Sweetened black tea, subtle biscuit, and caramel. Moderate bitterness. No prominent fruity esters. Not too shabby all around. Certainly a pleasant, sessionable ESB.

Served from tap into a shaker. Poured red-orange with half finger white head that subsided to a minimal amount slowly. Maintained nice lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, bread, and spicy hop. The flavor was of sweet malt, citrus, spice, and fruit. It had a light feel on the palate with medium-high carbonation. Overall this was a pretty average brew. For the style this one wasn’t really that impressive if I am completely honest. Some of the right flavors were there, but it still lacked any sort of balance that I usually like in this style. The fact that it wasn’t very well balanced also lead me to not fully finishing my glass before leaving Charlotte for the day. Glad I got to tick it, but I wouldn’t suggest it for any other reasons.

Appearance: Arrives with a hazy amber color capped by a finger of foam; decent streakage down the side of the pint glass

Smell: Fruity and bready, with an earthy hop aspect

Taste: Opens with a caramel base that quickly adds a stone fruit element; earthy hops arrive in the middle and provide a nice balance to the malts in the finish

Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation

Overall: Nice to see a North Carolina brewery take a stab at this style; I was just talking about the lack of ESBs in the market with somebody earlier in the week and here I stumble across this one - a darn good effort, too

A guest tap at Fullsteam yesterday.Poured into a standard pint a clear copper color with a 1/2 finger white head that held pretty well.Leafy hops and bready malt in the nose, some fruity esters came into play as well, rather light in the nose but appetizing enough.Good bready malt on the palate wich is the main component of the beer, lightly fruity with mild leafy hops in a nice finish.A solid ESB it won't blow you away but it's a nice session-style beer.
